Hey guys - I am looking to purchase a TRD skid plate (PTR60-35160). I have seen a number of posts where members have gotten super good deals on them through sales etc. Are there certain retailers/sellers that are known to have good sales/offers on Tacoma parts throughout the year? I can wait on the purchase if I have an idea when these sales may occur.

    Thanks in advance.

EBay does 20% off coupons every so often, I also think that is the old part number you have listed.

Is the new part # the exact same plate? I keep seeing a shorter version popping up when I plug the # in to google.

Ok that makes sense. I will look into an eBay account so the discount is available when offered. Can you tell me how often they have it?

You just missed the 40% off TRD sale Toyota had a few weeks ago.

I will be purchasing 3rd gen. I just purchased my truck and you made me think whether the dealer would have an issue with the skid plate while performing the oil change under the maintenance plan seeing as it's not stock on my model.

whtstcp: hey wassup. thanks for the insight. i think my price point is open, havent really priced anything out yet. when i had my 2013 i purchased the trd skid from the dealer and i remember that puppy being a couple hundred. so anywhere around there would be prime. im also aint gonna lie, its gonna be purely aesthetic. think it gives the truck a more complete look, plus i can take off that chinspoiler or whatever that is lol.

whatstcp: lol actually with this truck not gonna do any lift. just leave it stock height. i been there with the 13, being all oily and lifting it with a full icon 10". with this build, just gonna do odds and ends. i guess im gonna do my vision of what a trd sport tacoma can look like since theres no xrunner variant for this gen. i gotta admit i do miss my xrunner.
