    I should put an old towel on the countertop since I was dealing with metal pieces that can damage the granite.

    See what happens when I get excited and not think about my surroundings...lol

    Feels great too!

    It's beefier and solid feeling. I paid a little extra (less than $90 including shipping) but I like the OEM feel.

    Update on battery hold downs...

    I noticed my skinny battery tie down started getting acid on it...I realized, the OEM tie down has a bridge that makes no contact with the center area between the caps. I believe this is what caused the acid to leak onto my tie down.

    When the skinny dog bone tie down is installed, be sure not to tighten too much so this does not happen. I bought the wider dog bone for when I replace the battery and get one without caps.

    That's actually correct about making contact. Those battery strap designs are actually meant for sealed batteries (AGM) types for that reason. Also, the oem battery is known to leak out the caps. Mine was replaced under warranty with a Toyota Truestart 84 month battery shortly after I bought my 2017 new. Keep an eye on it, because battery acid will eat/strip paint.

    Yesterday, I checked pricing from the dealership I bought my Sport in MD...they are selling for $44K+.

    I paid $38,807 in May of 2021.

    As of today, I have 9644 miles on my Sport. Looks like I'll hit 10K before my 1 year anniversary.

    Purchase/Brought Her Home Date: Friday May 14, 2021. She had 7 miles on the clock.
