TRD Sport & factory rear diff lock?

    Afternoon,
    I realized that the symbol/light for rear diff lock is present on my instrument light cluster. Just curious if anyone has ever explored to see if our TRD sports actually have diff lock capability but just lacks the wire harness and button to engage it?
    I’m sure that this situation is “too good to be true” but never hurts to ask the forum knowing the sarcastic trolls will be lurking…

    They lack more than that.
    The whole differential housing is different.

    It takes a lot more than just a button and harness.
    You basically need whole differential.

    Your entire rear end is different. In short, it's just cheaper for Toyota to use the same guage cluster and the irrelevant lights won't be used.
