TRD Sport, is the hood scoop functional?

Surely it helps with cooling the motor a little, no?

 

In stock form, no.

 

with the blocked off section that doesn’t let air pass through sure.

 

Unless you cut a hole in it, or, if I'm not mistaken remove the plastic piece that seals it, it has zero purpose. I traded my hood with a friend and got one without a scoop to avoid the glare and increase visibility on the right side.

 

A buddy had a Yugo with a scoop that was non functional. He put a sticker on the hood that said “Insert 25¢” next to it.
