Sport has a more firm ride and is more street focused. I love the ride in our sport.

And for the record, I like chicks with fake tits.

Doubt it, gearing is the same in the models. Will depend on how you drive it.

Buy the Off-Road and never take it off-road like most of the dudes dick wagging around here.

Then come on here and look at all the pics of guys off-roading in their Sport and tell them how dumb they are.

Oh and tell them how dumb the skewp is, then start a thread for a hood swap.

Buy an Access Cab with a manual transmission. You don't really need the DC.

I went off road because I didn't care about the hood scoop, and preferred the black fenders and front bumper trim. I also liked the OEM bilsten suspension. Having a factory rear locker was a big bonus for me. And having the roll and pitch indicator on the info screen is awesome haha. But the sport has some cool features my GF would have liked such as BSM, and sunroof, unfortunately the Off Road in Canada isn't available with those, but it does come with the painted rear bumper and duel zone climate control standard haha

Op, search, this topic has been asked nearly on a weekly basis.

One put it best, if you are off roading regularly the OR would have some benefits. Don't get it twisted the Sport is plenty capable off road though.

The sport will handle better and be a little firmer and will have a little better mpg with slightly less aggressive tires and the chin spoiler.

If you just like the incorrectly perceived manliness buy the OR and never leave the pavement like many do here. Make sure it is 4wd that you will never need either so you can talk down to others at the local suburban starbucks.

Seriously, just search, there is tons of info comparing the two...

Sport rides like shit in my opinion. A lot of folks come in complaining about the ride of the Sport because it is stiffer and more jarring...you feel more of the road however it corners better at higher speeds aka "Sport" tuned suspension. That being said if you plan to lift and put on different suspension, that's all moot.

The TRD OR comes with a locker, more plush and "supple" riding suspension.

Buy what you want. You're the one that has to live with it and make the payment.

Sport squats less with heavier payloads.

Originally, prior to research, I was going to buy a Sport 4x2 since I don't plan to off road.

I knew i wanted a TRD for the push button start, power sliding rear window, LED daytime running lights, etc.

I knew I wanted Magnetic Gray Metallic TRD 4x2.

When i got to the dealership i found out they make the OR in 4x2 which i didn't know beforehand.

I test drove the sport and the off road and landed on the OR 4x2. I liked the look of the scoop from the exterior but really didnt like it from the drivers perspective. Secondly when i learned it was not functional that turned me off further. Next, i dont like the chin spoiler air deflector thing on the sport as it ruins front approach angle, which is something i need because the driveway in to my local Starbucks is steep!!! At that point i thought hmmm the cost of the fake hood and the chin spoiler i would remove would be better spent on the functional addons that come on the OR. I dont plan to modify the truck so i like getting some mildly better bilsteins from the manufacturer. I wont need the locking diff but at least it is functional add to my tool kit. I didnt think i would like the black overfenders on the OR but since i wanted the MGM color it goes perfectly. I also prefer the chrome look bumper rather than color keyed bumper. The OR might also have an aluminum skid plate that might not be on the sport. Lastly i thought the sport and OR wheels both look great, so no issue there.

Its all personal preference, but i am one who fully intended to get the sport and after further research came home with a 17 MGM TRD OR 4x2 and am loving it. Coworkers also giving me lots of compliments.

One last thing. If you dont care about some of these bells and whistles that come on all TRDs, the SR5 V6 is also a great truck that comes in 4x2 and 4x4. I think for hardcore OR folks that intend to mod everything the SR5 V6 4x4 can be a great foundation to build on and cost effective.

Post up what you land on and why!

If you are having trouble deciding between a OR or Sport you may want to look at the TRD Pro (if you can afford it).

People talk about shocks on here but it seems very few realize that just because the shock body is say black, that doesn't mean valving is the same.

Honestly if a shock is valved differently for the road, as the sport is, the only way to find out difference is to crack one open.

You cannot tell how a shock is set up by looking at the exterior.

I found I liked sport on road, drives great!

Wait .... what? Does not compute.....

Hood skewp bro, hood skewp! Boom.

Get the OR if you don't want to lift it. The sport OEM suspension sucks... I know I have the Sport! But once lifted = bad ass. Not fake tits bad ass but bad ass non-the-less!
