I've owned them both, OR and non OR, personally I couldn't feel very much difference in the ride quality of either. Maybe the OR was a little stiffer going over bumps but not by much. I don't think you will find that the sport rides a "lot" better. After all, they are trucks. That said I don't expect or want my truck to ride like a car.
    Good luck on your decision.

I say think outside the box. Get the DC TRD Sport 4wd and turn it into a DC XRunner. Lower that bitch and put a supercharger on it.

You know what, you're not going to go wrong either way. Both trucks are awesome. And down the road, if for some reason you really get into offroading and find you need a locker, you can add an ARB. They're great.

i still havent attempted to load my bike up yet.. but after seeing how much room is in the sb after just a toolbox is in it? i couldnt live without the lb.
also.. i dont do enough crazy wheeling to warrant a locker.. and i preferred the trim of the sport and the way the normal, everyday driving felt. i dont need it to feel like a car.. like someone said earlier.. its a truck.. but if im going to drop 30k and put 2500miles a month on this thing.. im going to want to be comfortable. the sport does me just fine offroad (and im still all stock) i can get just as far as most who have a factory locker just by driving a little smarter.
but who knows.. i may put the arb air lockers on in the future should i decide to go that route.

I have the 2011 sport & love it. The interior looks better than the regular Tacoma in my opinion.

I had an 05 SR5, but like the Sport better.

Hey man, I'd go with the Sport. I have an 06 that I've had for 5 years now, its good for mudding and not to crazy off roading. I'm the same fob as you as well but with 1-26IN. enjoy your leave.

Off Road. I think both have pluses but in the end i like the off road. I know a lot of people love the hood scoop(as i do) but in a couple years i think it will make the truck look dated. I love the painted grill of the sport, but the chrome rear bumper of the off road....either way both are awesome!
