    Does anyone know if the DBL Cab V6 SR5 TRD Sport came with lockers or not?Thanks....And if this was to be added on, whats the approx. cos to do this...parts wise, labor is usually around $75-$120 an hour, but whats typical install time if this was to be done, rear time and front time?

    No...No lockers in the sport. The Offroad has a rear locker. The sport has a Limited Slip.

    Air lockers run about 700 per set. You'll need an OBA set up of some sort-Either CO2 or a compressor.

    Locking Bed Boxes, built in air compressor, Husky Liners(not really a mod but I love them)
    oba = on board air. normally a compressor with a tank. most off road shops will sell and most likely install lockers.

    2016 GMC Canyon SLT w/ LineX and....
    Non of the Sport models came with a locker.

    The 05-08 Sport came with the mechanical LSD (inside the diff)

    The 09+ Sport comes with an OPEN differential.

    So, if you get the 09 Sport,you should be able to put a locker in.

    Use the search button, lots of information out there already.

    ARB, Detroit are the two that I've looked into. There are others. And yes...On Board Air. If you use compressed air lockers (like ARB) you'll need at least the compressor....a tank is a good idea...but apparently not REQUIRED for an air locker.

    ARB lockers are a lot more expensive than $700/set. You're looking at $900 just for the rear and the front is also around $900. Factor in another $250~ for the compressor and wiring. And then add $500 for the rear install plus compressor. No idea on what the front would cost to put it, but I know it'll be more than $500.

    cool, whats teh cost if you were to get it stock...like the locker package...or whatever it would be called. i wanna put a tank anyway, because if i do any wheelin, i need to be able to deflate and re-inflate the tires on the fly...and the people i go wheelin with all have the built in tank (well removable but you all know what i mean)

    Fair enuf...I was a bit low on the price. The other thing is Front and Rear lockers is a REAL serious set up.

    With a LSD and my street tires I've gotten thru a few things that I'm sure I shouldn't have. A rear locker and some better tires and I think I'd be able to kill anything I want to take my daily driver into...

    Indeed. I had an LSD until I was getting into some stuff where I would lift a wheel and lost traction. That's when I switched to the locker.

    How often have you used the locker since you swapped?? Cause I've gotten myself thru some stuff that I shoulda/woulda been locked if I had the equipment using the poor mans e-brake locker...but my truck didn't like it much at all.

    I want to lock the rear end....but I kind of want to do it myself...which means waiting a while...or biting the bullet and having a shop do it.

    I wouldn't recommend setting up a rear end unless you have someone with plenty of experience in rear end rebuilds that is willing to walk you through the process, or you have prior experience yourself.

    Everything up to the setup process is gravy, but getting your backlash and pinion depth just right can be pretty tricky. If either are off by the slightest amount, your gears will wear unevenly causing premature wear. Another factor would be the tools required to get the job done. You will spend as much on the proper tools as you would to have your third member put together by a rear end mechanic.

    As others have said, the sports do not come from the factory w/ a rear locker, only the LSD ('09+ Auto-LSD / '08 prior mechanical LSD).

    The cost for front and rear ARB lockers installed will somewhere around 2300 +/- $200. that is if you factor in a decent OBA setup.

    Install should not take over a day for any competent shop. Install front and rear diffs, install and plumb your OBA setup.

    I'm slowly building a full scare shop...I know the tools for gear builds aren't too large...so I don't mind that expense. The learning is also part of that. No way to get experience but doing it.

    I would find someone who knows what is going on to look over my shoulder for the at least this one...and get my work checked carefully before I test anything.

    I appreciate the input tho!! (The gear build is a ways off...I think I want to get my 33's and see how the power curve responds before deciding to regear or not)
