Ignorant on this too. I’ll have to research/YouTube this. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just did mine yesterday. I too saw another thread where the poster was into the third year. If I get new wheels it will be when I need new tires. 20221230_155658.jpg
I agree with taking them off and doing the application on a flat surface. I did them in my garage during our warm snap here and ran the heat in garage to get above 60 degrees. I put them on dry and it went well. As I said in another post, they pass the 5ft test or the good enough in a picture for the internet test.
    Go for it.

They definitely look sharp. I’ll take my time with prep and application and hope I get a couple years out of them.

Well in unforeseen development, I stumbled upon this listing on FB. At the risk of hijacking my own thread, does anyone see anything I should be concerned about with this listing? I believe I’ve done enough research to assure myself that TRD pro wheels will work on a TRD Sport. But I’ve also read about knockoffs from eBay. Is there a way to confirm genuine OEM part upon inspection when I go to look at them?

^^^^ looking at the beads on the tires not being seated, I would bet, there are no TPMS included in that price so, now you are buying new sensors, from toyota (expensive), or from the aftermarket (still costs), and cloning your sensors. so think about that for added cost up front. Ski

Thanks for the info - you’re right, no tpms included. I assumed (perhaps incorrectly so) I could have the tire shop reuse the tpms that I currently have on my truck/tires - anyone know if that’s accurate?

This thread is taking a turn - apologies - but thanks for hanging with me.

Should oem part# on backside, and or toyota there. I can't tell clearly enough, if they are just dirty or flat finish. Oem never came flat finish. Also, looks like no sensors

I’ll see if I can get a picture of the backside showing that info before committing to the drive to check them out. I appreciate that.

Another question… if one were to buy new wheels, are tpms generally included? For example, I think you can get TRD wheels for around $870-ish delivered from a place like BAM. Would that include the sensors or would I still be faced with the choice of reusing existing sensors or buying a new set?

They are not included. Oem sensors, you can buy new ones for around $60.00 ea, aftermarket around $35.00 ea. Or reuse your existing.

    TPMS are usually never included.

Also, you can just ignore the tire pressure light and use your eyes to see if have a flat tire (free).

I’ve never used decals on wheels but have on motorcycles for years. The only issue I had was my fault for doing a poor install job.

As long as your prep is good and are are my curbing your wheels, they should last a while. Only issue you might run into us UV damage where it might not look as good. But it’s a fairly inexpensive decal that you can just peel and reapply a new one.

Yep. Plasti dip is great. Most people that don’t like it have either never used it or did a poor job when they did.
