I currently have the factory side mirrors w/ turn signals that I’m looking to replace with side mirrors w/o turn signals. Wondering if this is even a route I can go and if yes, any issues I might run into with the wiring/pigtail connections. I’d appreciate any feedback/info (just got my truck not too long ago and still learning so go easy on me).

    Thanks

    welcome

easy way would be to get a set from/for an earlier model that didn't have them (05 and up)

now the $64k question in 2 parts:
    a) can a cop give you a ticket for not having them given that they were original equipment
    b) if you get in an accident that goes to court and the position finds out you removed them how badly are you going to get reamed and will your insurance refuse you for the deletion

O.P. It’s rumored you can replace the mirror skin/cover but don’t quote me. If possible this is the route I would go. Find a set of 2012-15 at a salvage yard or eBay and replace the covers. If the covers aren’t replaceable I’d still look at getting a set of mirrors from the 12-15 model range (Sr5 or OR). Just realize you aren’t just giving up the signal mirrors you’re are giving up color matched as well. All other models are black. If you switch to a 2005-2011 mirror you may have to re pin but idk. @caribe makaira would know the electrical end of swapping.

As stated before, the electrical is no biggie. The connector will be left with 2 wires on the door side and missing on the mirror side (if exchanged). I'd go cover replacement, but I'm not 100% positive if it's a direct swap and there's the paint to match $$$.

I have a black truck so not too worried about color matching or even going textured. I agree cover replacement would be the best starting point, possibly replace the mirror assemblies if that doesn’t work out.

And yes, I would be going from pigtail connections w/ 5 wires to 3, leaving out 2 wires on the door side. Wasn’t sure how that would play out. Appreciate all the input!

Thought about doing the opposite. If you were in SoFL I’d trade ya for ‘15 TRD OR mirror w/o signals.
