There is a thread about swapping a OEM rear locker into a Sport, but I can’t find it right now. @BigWhiteTRD might have insight.

Thanks for your comment i tought brakes and abs system were same based on this couple of projects:

    https://youtu.be/b_y9n79YZjU

    https://tctmagazine.net/spring-2016/2015-4runner-sr5-crawl-control-retrofit

they just add switches , harnesses and ECUs, none of them add something else, but I’ll look up more.

when i connected the ECU i had error message based on the rear locking diff coil as “open” so i hope when i purchase third member with the harness problem will be solved.

can anyone show me were the rear Lock diff harness goes?

I get the OEM thing. For me I bought the sport because it was cheaper at the time (Toyotathon), and I was going to be swapping suspension anyway so it made sense. It'll be interesting to see what you come up with, and the total cost when it's done. For me, an air locker will better suit my needs. I already did the suspension, wheels and tires, and full skids. Going to re-gear with the locker when the time comes and that'll pretty much be it.

This photo is of my Sport...the MC is a totally different set up to the OR.

Why not purchase the OR if the intent was to have locker/crawl control?

Hmmm, can you have a family member buy one in US and drive it down to you?

I have no idea how the registration works in Mexico.

    This thread?
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/factory-locker-install-on-16-sport.692802/

(On another note, the whole concept here is interesting... in US, last I checked all trucks that used 4wd ecu used same ecu... so 2wd ORs, or 4wd ORs, etc)

4wd ecu behavior appears highly dependent on body ecu (best I can tell)...

Thinking more, maybe any 2wd truck with 4wd ecu will act like 2wd OR with ecu installed

My tacoma has ECU 89533-04060 is a regular 4x4 ECU

but also are ECU 89533-04070 and 89533-04080 the 70 is for 6 ft bed and 80 is for 5 ft bed with offroad package. However for some reason my tacoma (using VIN number ) only fits the 070 . I Don’t know why

Completely different. This is an off-road master cylinder, they are not interchangeable without a fair amount of work to change it and the ABS system.

The booster alone usually goes for over 2000$, on top of the wiring harness and brake line requirements.

Shy of a full donor truck, this is likely not feasible.
