    All of them.
If my interest was 99% street driving and 1% fire roads for fishing I'd be all over the Ridgeline. They ride like a car. So nice.

    i thought so...

it seems when everyone argues sport against offroad they seem to leave out you get the better rear diff with the offroad. all you ever hear is that the locker is only used by a hand full of owners and craw control is just a gimmick.. they leave out eh beefier rear diff..

Like @shakerhood said, MT Sports have the same 8.75” rear.

My camping buddy has 17 sport with long box and we go everywhere together, he has no issues. Well except for an occasional frame scrape, but nothing too serious. He is on stock suspension too. Unless you do some hardcore rock crawling, long base will get you to your fishing spots.

I went on some light to moderate trail one time and was shocked to see quite a few Subaru’s there. Nothing too extreme but a lot of deep washouts.

    This is the said trail.

CC is not a gimmick. It has gotten me unstuck plenty of times. Used my locker pretty much all the time where people are trying to use momentum and floor it uphill over ruts and rocks. If all you do is easy stuff get a cheap 2WD SR5 and throw on some good tires.

Slow and steady is how you keep from breaking shit OP. Why buy a sport when it's only 40-80 bucks less on a monthly payment for an OR

I’m a CC hater, but I won’t go as far as saying that it’s a gimmick. It’s mainly for people who aren’t very skilled at driving offroad. A “nanny” feature if you will. People have been offroading with no issue for decades without CC. It’s not needed unless you suck.

That’s why I made this post because I was unsure and am also a BC resident and just looking for something to go off on the service roads.. feeling comfortable about my sport order now.

Because Toyota doesn't build ORs with the right cab/bed/transmission combos.

OR and Sport have the same exact MSRP if configured the same, at least in the USA.

I've had my Sport for a year now and really the only two things I've *really* missed, as in, made me question my choice, were:

1.) lack of bolt-on roof rack capability because I have an access cab, and will not drill into my roof
2.) lack of space for 2nd battery under the hood near the passenger-side firewall (they stuck a brake coil thingy there)

Yes, there are other options for a 2nd battery under the hood but I don't want two *very* heavy AGMs sitting on the same fender and pulling on the radiator mount. And yes, I know about the Thule and Yakima clip-on roof racks.

You Fudds said the same things before they were mandated, then you moved on to grumbling about other advances in technology.

Man this is always a fun question. Can definitely stir up a bunch of shit.

You'll be fine with a sport for what you're doing, especially if you need a long bed.

If the Sport & OR are the same price, than I'd argue it's pretty dumb not to go with the factory locker. Plus the OR will sell for a little more down the road if you decide to get rid of it.

I think that’s much more dependent on region. I took a look on KBB and compared my 2020 Sport with an identical 2020 Off Road and the Sport was worth about $780 more. Same result for trade and private party.

On a side note, I was a bit shocked that the trade value on my truck was about $1k more than what I paid for it.

You are in Canada, you will drive in snow. Other than when you are stuck (and in 4 lo) the locker would not even help you.

Then you get to disengage it to continue and you are back to 1-wheel drive in the rear as it is an open diff when not locked.

If you really want a useful upgrade for 98%+ of the real world and off road uses then upgrade to a Detroit TruTrac limited slip in the rear. They are fantastic and work really well in on the street, in the snow or when it is slick. They work well off road too in vast majority of situations.

Yes, I'd like an e-locker or an air locker. If I spring those $$$ it is to put one in the front diff to complement the TruTrac I have in the rear.
