What's the difference between the sr5 and Trd sport. Other than styling and better interior sound system, are there any major differences performance? I have a 2016 sr5 btw, just curios what makes it a "sport"

I'm looking for the same info, from what I've found SR5 comes as automatic, sport doesn't
if you get the trd sport package though on a sr5 it adds all the same stuff as the sport.

    so limited slip diff
    power sun roof
    push button start
    dual zone climate control
    etc

i posted what the options get you here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/can-someone-explain-the-difference.396349/

    at least for canadian spec

I believe the only difference between the two minus the obvious aesthetics are the suspension. Both have a lsd in the rear but I have a manual in the sport so I don't have the fancy push button start and all that jazz.

hmm then I stand corrected. only info I could find on toyota website was under build, if you click automatic only it removes the TRD sport and only leaves the SR5 with TRD package.

Well I know they have the Trd sports in manual and automatic as I test drove both. But do the bilstein shocks make a major difference?

The sport does not come with a sunroof or dual zone climate. The Premium and Technology package adds sunroof and dual zone climate to the Sport.
There is no limited slip differential in the Sport or SR5. It's an electronic braking system that acts as an LSD.
All Sports come with push button start.

I believe all models have LSD. Toyotas don't use mechanical LSD.....just abs controlled. It works quite well.

Does yours have heated seats... I don't have any buttons for mine but have the heated rear view mirrors.. I thought all the TRD Sports are supposed to have heated seats???? I could have used them this am going to work and looked for the buttons.. nope. Sales rep told me we had heated seats.

"Automatic Limited Slip Differential" means it uses the brakes to simulate one. It's not a mechanical LSD. Toyota hasn't used one since 2008.

For the U.S., you only get the heated seats with the premium and tech package added to the TRD Sport. That package also comes with digital dual climate control and sunroof, among other things.

Really, Toyota says they have bilstein shocks that are tuned for sport suspension whatever that means

SR5, TRD Sport and Limited have Hitachi shocks. If there are differences in how they are "tuned" feel free to let us know. They may very well be identical.

No heated seats, and as far as shocks go I'm replacing my factory shocks with blisten 5100s and toytec coil overs this week
