Hello, I am actually kind of new to Tacoma World.

So I bought a 2017 TRD Sport Tacoma in February of this year. As I did not want a 2018, because of all the nanny features bundle with it.

Anyways, my Sport has all the TRD features, except the Entune Premium and Qi Charger.
It never really bothered me, until I started going over the brochure regarding the features. As my friend has an SR and wanted to know all the differences.
Was when I noticed that the two missing equipment, which is suppose to be standard, is not on my truck.

I kind of actually like the standard unit, since it isn't a fingerprint magnet gloss black screen. Heard the Qi charger is a hit/miss, more towards useless.

Would I be able to go to my dealer and demand for the premium audio and Qi charger?
Or I am SOL cause I did not read the sticker in detail, do my research, question standard feature, etc. before signing the papers?

I don't think you have a TRD then as the Entune Premium headunit and Qi charger were standard on TRD models. Maybe you're in Canada. Post a picture of truck.

It's odd, cause I have the rear power windows, PTS, bed inverter, hitachi suspensions, fake hood skewp, and the sport rims.

Extremely odd. And you bought it brand new?

Oh, I also have LED DRLs, keyless entry, and LED Cargo lights.

Only the Entune Premium and Qi Charger is missing.

If you bought it new I would go to dealer and inquire, used that's tough as maybe the previous owner swapped that stuff, but as you mentioned it should definitely be standard.

I bought it with only 5 miles on the ODO.

Ya I'd go back and talk to the dealer, maybe a goof up at the factory. That's definitely not right. You may be fine with it but you did pay extra for the standard TRD stuff and should be on/in your truck.

Here is a pic of the dash as I drove it out of my dealer.

Gotcha. Since its new and your sticker showed the standard TRD stuff I would take it back and let dealer know, they should be able to order and replace those parts.

Guess I'll be going to the dealer on my next day off to check on it.
My dealer tends to be pretty shady about stuff, so I have a feeling they will blame it on me for not doing my research before signing the papers.

They have no leg to stand on if your sticker had it as standard and the factory goofed since it's a TRD with SR5/SR stuff, you are entitled to what was stated on the sticker. Same as the used stickers you see, etc. And it shouldn't cost them a thing through Toyota Warranty/Corporate. If they give you a hard time I'd call Toyota Customer Service and open up a claim with a case manager.

    Thank you for the advice.
I will see to it next week.
My VIN on Toyota does comeback as an SR5 also...
But I heard Toyota's VIN decoder can be wonky at times.

I wonder if this has happened to others. Where standard features happen to not be included.

I have heard of some people buying Tacoma with the TRD sport sticker, but was actually an SR5.

When the first 16's rolled out we would see like one sport color matched flair on a trd off road or misplaced stickers, etc. It's not unheard of, just someone having a bad day on QA at the factory I guess. Good luck!

The case of the SR5 TRD sport posted here was someone buying a used SR5 from a non Toyota dealer where the previous owner put a TRD Sport decal on the bed. Can’t blame Toyota for that.

As for your headunit, I’d say it’s more lightly that someone at the dealership swapped it out before you took delivery. But it’s going to be hard to prove that now, a few months later. Good luck.

I have a feeling that, that could be possible. My dealer is shady. Sometimes I cannot even trust them for basic maintenance.

Had a Corolla prior, and there was a time that I got my car back with a dent on the right fender. Dealer said it was there when I first dropped it off, I don't even remember the inspector circling that part of the car sheet.
I was a freshman in Uni, and it was just a Corolla, so never really put much thought into anything...

Hopefully, by next week, I will see if I can get the Entune P and the Qi Charger.

K, so it should have been a "USA" truck, not one built for Canada.

Do you have a button that turns on the QI charger? Should be in the middle of the dash, just above were the charger is.

The truck was built in Texas, if that may be valuable info.
Nope, no Qi Charging. Just a deeper hole.
