Hey everyone i would like to ask all the true off roaders out there this question. I have a 2023 TRD sport 4x4 and i want to know if it’s a true real actual 4 wheel drive vehicle? My opinion is no because it doesn’t have full locking rear differential just traction control. Am i correct?

You are simply driving a corolla with a bed. Stick to the mall lots and you’ll be fine.

Can you please explain? I’ve never had a 4x4 so i really don’t understand. I tried to join a 4x4 club in my area and was told that if i don’t have lockers they won’t accept my membership

Check TacomaWorld Regions to find a 4x4 club in your area. If you don’t see one, post and ask. Overall, TW members are good people which is why I hang out here.

My Sport 4x4 had gotten me through deep snow with no problem. Other than that, I am generally all on pavement. Check out this thread if you feel you need to add a locker to your Sport.

Mine is off-roady enough in 2wd to handle the same dirt roads my Crown Vic used to cruise down effortlessly, so it's got that going for it. That's about as off road as I get. The 4x4 is great for the couple times a year we get snow deep enough to sort of need it.

Oh yeah. Yes, it's a real 4x4, it's got low range.

Sorry you have a sport, note that this was completely self-inflicted.
    :boink:

    You have a 4x4 without a locker. But still a 4x4...

The morons in the club appear to be, well, morons... find another group of guys who will
See past your lack of locker. It should not be criteria for anything...

Be aware you'll still hear sh*t about your 'sport' truck. I don't know how anyone will look past that...

    (Kidding, of course :p)

    (Maybe)
