I meant more money, but I guess the mods aren't that extensive so maybe it wouldn't be that much more.

I definitely understand what you're saying. $6,000 for the TRD supercharger is a pretty hefty price for what you actually get.

I looked at it like this: I decided that my Tacoma was going to be the last vehicle I buy myself for an extremely long time (15-20 years), so I didn't mind the cost of the supercharger and other supporting mods. Subsequently, those costs will fade into the background like a memory because I'd enjoy the hell out of the vehicle for a very long time. If in five years I was going to get rid of my truck for something else, my mindset would be much different.

I know exactly what you mean. I used to have all Honda's (94 Integra, 00 Civic Hatch) and two of them had built engines with turbo's. Then I decided I liked traction and need AWD for winter and got into Subaru's (2013 WRX). I try not to look at the costs from those vehicles because I just think how much fun they were, I use my vehicles for daily driving but its also for fun, and I guess I shouldn't put a price tag on fun. I'd like to keep this truck for a while and I do want the S/C but it will wait for a while. Wife and new baby coming make it hard to justify that price tag even more.

Well first off, congratulations on your new baby! Definitely take care of that first lol. All spending on my end has come to a screeching halt. We're building a house and closing is six months away.

    Afterwards, it's on! :D

The money spent on the SC is well worth it to me. I look forward to getting in my truck everyday to drive it.

Has anyone gotten the nonTRD blower from LCE yet? Any thoughts thus far if so?

Its the exact same blower, minus the TRD on it. they MAY have polished and ported it better. Which, according to Steigmier (or w/e they're called) will show gains up to 10% of blower capacity. Which means about $800 or so to ship it to them and get it back, for UP TO 6 HP gain. Solid pass. I'll throw some Octane booster in every so often when i want a 6 HP gain :D

well, preorders were supposed to be delivered by sometime in March and I want to know if they've been received. I'd like to know what people say about the install and reflash using the bully dog. They've also started selling fit kits for 600 bones for those lucky souls who picked up blowers and didn't have the second package.

Average price for the fit kits but the bully dog used as the reflash....:bananadead:

That said I'd give them props for bringing the SC back.... then gouge the customers

Kinda like giving someone a compliment then back handing them when they aren't looking

Well, in Magnuson's defense, Its either theirs or URD, so they really dont have to match Toyotas price. But they do need to offer it without the lame ass tuner.

If they did then how would one go about tuning for the blower? I know 08 and older you can do the Uconn but that's like 1500$ which doesn't make it any better of a deal.

The UCON offers a lot more flexibility and tuning than the Bully Dog. Then again, like you said, the UCON is more expensive than the Bully Dog and is only available for the 2005-2009 (I think) Tacomas.

Regardless, at the end of the day the value of something is equal to how much someone is willing to pay for it.

Pretty sure you could probably still go to Toyota and get the TRD reflash lol. Its the same blower.

Exactly this. Some people scoffed at the blowers since day one and don't think its worth it, yadda yadda yadda, or the same old "if I wanted more power I'd buy a V8".

I want one, I just don't want to pay 6k for it. If I could get the blower and fit kit and have Toyota ref lash it then I'd be happy with that.
