Hey everyone, just wanted to provide basic feedback from a new owner of a TRD supercharger on a 14 Access Cab Manual Offroad 4.0. I've had it for 2 days and it keeps on getting more responsive/ powerful. What a pleasure to drive, and its so much fun. I love the quick acceleration, and the sound. It kicks ass around the corners when you floor it...lol! That's it for now... but my recommendation thus far is: find a way to go buy one.

So jealous, really I am. Enjoy in good health, I bet it is a riot with a manual transmission.

What can one expect to shell out including proper installation for the supercharger? Is there a price difference for manual vs automatic? I wouldn't want to spend more than I should, but at the same time I wouldn't want to be cheap and get hosed.

...I've been pondering the sc on a new '15, but not sure I'm down with the sound. Would love some opinions. Seems like the URD style would be much better in the sound dept, but would Blow :) the warranty.

Just an FYI you can't run the URD kit on anything newer than an 08. There proper engine management is not there. Why I dont know... some shenanigans about not being able to replicate a plug :notsure:

    Hmmm that's too bad.

I hear the trd sound on YouTube and whatever, but its hard to tell how it really sounds. I don't want it to be an annoying pig squeek every time I leave a red light!

    More than I can afford
I am seriously considering the S/C for my X-Runner.

Fun enough to drive now, another 70ish HP would make it even moar funner.

Just out of curiosity, what is the impact of the supercharger on the mileage?

    Nil.

If you drive it conservatively you'll gain a ½ or 1 MPG.

If you're in it all the time you'll lose 1 or 2 MPG.

It's noisy. It's not that noisy. I think after the blower breaks in, it quiets up a bit.

Gadget is still working on it and you're right, it is the plug harness he's having issues with since Toyota doesn't like to share the specs of the plugs. When it will be addressed? only Gadget will know for sure.

She'll rip. My truck is quick and strap one of these to an X and it really moves...
I am convinced it really can't be that difficult. It's a plug for fuck's sake. I personally think that there is something else hanging it up.

I called URD a while back and asked why. The answer I got was Toyota isnt releasing the engine mapping anymore.
