The best way to gain a bit better MPG's with the supercharger, is to get a tuner. But then you're spending more money that you'll never get back (for quite a long time anyway).

The stock TRD reflash runs VERY rich in open loop. And since it's normal to go into open loop quite often during part throttle (not WOT), there are gains to be had by leaning out those fuel tables, and still keep things on the safe side. You'll also get more power in those conditions, which would be a better excuse for doing it vs. mpg.

They're probably keeping it richer to get more cooling to prevent wear and also pinging. 's just my $0.02.

They're certainly doing it to stay on the safe side, but as long as you use quality gas, leaning it from high9's/ low 10's to mid 11's should be very safe. And since you wouldn't change a tune without the ability to monitor KR, then it's still a safe option. The overly rich tune from Toyota is more likely to keep the cats cool also.

On a trip to Reno yesterday from Redding I got 14mpg...after losing my ass at blackjack I got 15mpg on the return trip...included probably 10 multiple car passes in each direction, otherwise cruise was set at 75mph..this is the best I have done so far...with in town driving and Highway driving I have been getting about 12.5 mpg...Keep calm and boost on!! If I want better mileage I drive my G..

Hell yeah! Where does one get a supercharger and about how much does one cost? I would like to have one for pulling the boat around the mountains.

My avg highway, taking it easy on the skinny pedal, went from 18 to 19 after the install. Not really enough to say it's a significant increase. Also it will be countered by your higher fuel costs anyway.

This is why the 6112s and UCAs come before the super charger but here i am.... lurking on another sC thread
