So for the past few days there has been a 2008 Tacoma with a TRD supercharger. The first one at my auction in fact. So I was very excited to inspect it and drive it, after a good test drive I have to say not as fast as I was expecting. Still alot faster then the 4 banger I have been looking at though!! It did have 75k on it so maybe that was the problem. What are everyone's feelings on this??? Is any one really disappointed with there TRD blower?

It's never made any sense to me why you'd supercharge a V6 pickup.

1.) If it's for towing, you should of just bought a truck that is capable of towing whatever it is you need to tow.

2.) If it's for performance, you should of just bought a vehicle that is capable of performing whatever you need to perform.

3.) If it's just for fun, then that makes the LEAST about of sense why you would sink $5,000+ into a pickup truck, force yourself to pay for premium gas just to goose it off the line at a red light occasionally.

Just my $.02. If anyone cares to argue any of those three points, save your breath. Makes no difference to me, I am just saying why I wouldn't waste my money on it.

Cause its a pretty heavy truck and its 300ish crank hp... I'd much rather have the iForce 5.7 then supercharge that. Then it would be a fast truck.

It's not a turbo...it's advertised to bump up the power a very small amount...it was never meant to be overwhelming...it is what it is and its there to bump up the power if you want more. I like it better than stock and I knew buying it what it was. I got exactly what I paid for.

That being said I'm not new to the performance world and own an 800rwhp sports car that satisfies any cravings. If you expect the S/C to make the truck a sports car then you're dreaming unless you're one of the few on XRU doing full turbo and EMS installs...and any person who is doing that can share their headaches.

    Well, it is not a heavy truck. With the composite bed, it is actually light, especially compared to any Tundra. I like my truck because;

    1. I can run a mid-14 second 1/4 mile. Which isn't the fastest truck around, but I can take most vehicles.
    2. I get over 20 mpg combined in my truck. Not too many 14 second trucks can say that. If I don't need to go fast, I drive it normally and get V6 gas mileage.
    3. I can haul stuff. I have had sports cars, and they do not haul sheets of plywood that well.
    4. I can tow stuff. I haven't yet, but I could if I want too.
    5. I can take the whole family. Way more comfortable than a 2-door coupe!!

There is more, but I feel as though my supercharged Tacoma is pretty good all around daily driver!

He has way more than a standard TRD supercharger, and he's blown up as well. But I have watched this video so many times and his videos are one of the many reasons I wanted to supercharge the truck.

I just had mine installed and it was a little less power than I had hoped. That being said, I do like the added power and I do love the whine of it! It is something I never thought I would do (damn you, TW!) but I had the money and decided to pull the trigger. Do not regret it. I understand it's not for everyone, but neither is 4x4 or some of the lifts I see people on here with.

If you time it from when he actually takes off it's about 4.6 seconds. :D

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Sleepy performance is probably zero maintaince (plugs, air filters) and I just bet low octane fuel. I'd be all over that truck if the price were right. How much did it sell for?
