    Toyota proved that you can fit the 5.7 V8 in the Tacoma. F the 4.7 you can't even supercharge. I'd either go LS or 5.7 Toyota and supercharge either for 500 hp

    Yeah, and then blow the transmission on the 5.7L Toyota engine setup. They can't handle the supercharger setup on them from what I know.

    They completely pulled the 5.7 L TRD Supercharger from the Canadian markets years ago before turfing the whole program. In Canada they had too many warranty issues for failed components caused by supercharging the 5.7 L in Canada. I'm guessing the 5.7 L supercharger is riding a thin line and anything, like tough Canadian weather, is enough to cause a failure.

    Don't be dumb Jeff.

    Do you know what transmission they have in them? I'm pretty sure it is the Aisin Warner TB-68LS. If they are, those are only supposed to be good for 500 ft. lbs. of torque. The TRD blower pushes the Tundra's torque up to 551 ft. lbs. So it may be pushing it. I'm going to look because I'm curious now.

    I'm not seeing anything on any of the Tundra forums about issues with Superchargers and transmissions. So I'm gonna call BS on that. And guess what, if I was gonna drop in a Supercharged 5.7, I wouldnt put a automatic behind it, but I would make sure my clutch was rated for above the horsepower. So your argument is invalid.

    Thread about not being able to get a Tundra S/C installed in Canada. Why would Toyota pull the 5.7 L supercharger but not the other TRD superchargers in those years? I bought my kit in 2014 in Canada and had it installed in Canada in my Tacoma no problem but had a long talk with the dealer tech about the supercharger and he talked about the Tundra Supercharger being discontinued due to a high rate of failure in Canada.

    That suggests, to me anyways, that in cold weather when the supercharger makes just a little extra power something was going catastrophically wrong and Toyota was sick of paying for it. I would suggest that if the 5.7 L supercharger is that finicky here it's likely close to the edge everywhere else especially once you start adding mods.

    The accumulators when you pull the trans valve body are plastic. I'd hardly call the transmission glass because of one piece. Every thread I have seen that are blowing through those are running aftermarket tunes and/or smaller pullies and/or aftermarket shift kits. Even with that, there's a guy on tundra geeks that sells a shift kit to replace the plastic shit with billet. I drive mine like I stole it every day and no issues. Not gonna stop driving it that way either. It's what I do. Hell replace the clutches and these trans can support upwards of 800 hp. I'd hardley call the ab60e and ab60f transmissions glass.

    The only issues i read about the Tundra Suoerchargers was there was something about the ECU dialing back power if temps were below 50f or something and TRD issued a reflash to correct that.

    Wasn't really meant to be an argument, even though it may had sounded like one. I have been looking myself on there and haven't seen anything. I could had swore I read an article or read a thread where the engines equipped with the blower were blowing through transmissions like crazy if you weren't careful with it. I might had actually been told it by a Toyota tech when I was at the dealer also though. So idk.

    There was supposed to be an old PCM firmware that would reduce power in cold weather under like 55* for the blower Tundra's. The isue got taken care of, but I don't see how it would affect one year in particular.

    I searched like crazy looking for transmission specs on the AB60E and F variant, and came up empty handed. No horsepower, torque ratings, nothing. Which is sort of weird, given this transmission has been on the Tundra's since 07.

    I did see the mention of those accumulators though. Hell I might had even run into that same shift kit you were talking about. Lol.

    I caught that after that last post. :thumbsup:
