TRD supercharger

I'm fairly happy with my s/c'd Tacoma, but it's like driving most other imports you gotta be in the powerband just right to get a good pull out of it.

 

I'm pretty happy with mine even though it's blown lol. Still get 14mpg

 

Exactly. Sometime I have to play catch up because I was in the wrong gear at the wrong rpms

 

Manual kinda sucks too lol because I feel like mini vans are pulling on me as I shift

 

Dude 1st gear sucks lol, I get a good take off sometimes but the 1st-2nd shift sucks and I usually get passed up by people just barely gunning it before 2nd kicks in and I take off

 

Need dat short shifter

Ohhhhh you might be right, maybe 150. I didnt go with the URD one because its a spacer type, not an actual replacement, so I was hesitant to go that route

 

Yeah from its description it sounds easy to break in half power shifting through early gears.

No, I would much prefer a solid shaft as well. Sometimes the lower price tag takes precedent.

Any of you s/c boys running alcohol injection? I just installed a kit and it's pretty great so far. Not tuned for it what so ever and there is already a pretty drastic difference. My only qualm is how much god damned juice the thing uses. If you're full throttle you will consume a gallon in a couple minutes. My rig is more of a dd and this system seems like more of a drag racer tool. Would recommend though.

 

What meth kit did you get, i thought you could adjust how much gets injected and when. I was thinking on getting a kit and just having it kick on at say 5 or higher boost

Depends on the kit. Mine can set start and end anywhere from 1-30 psi boost with 10 pump duty levels in between but as Anthony stated you really need to dial in the right nozzle size.

I just went with the default nozzle and I have to believe it's too big. My pump is set to start at 3.5 and end at 30 so I'm only at ~40% duty cycle at full boost (~8 psi) and it's still way too much.

If you're not dealing with crazy detonation issues I'd say just stick with a non progressive kit. Much cheaper and works really well for a dd.

 

Failures???? There is no such thing as a failure in the URD short shifter part. There is nothing to fail And it's not a spacer either.......It's called thinking outside the box as in using a different approach to accomplish a task keeping it stock more or less but much better! I have this shifter and i have used the same shifter on 2 trucks in a row for 85,000 miles it's the best one out there!! I am a huge fan of URD and it's awesome products and support! I have the TRD S\C and a 2.0 urd s\c pulley The 7th injector kit. along with the Urd crank pulley a cold air intake My own custom exhaust system And with a stage 3+ clutch locked rear end at 4:88 I can spin my 37's all the way across the intersection and slam 2nd in .758 seconds And i can hit 87mph in 3rd but my tires are rated for Q=99mph so My best 0-60 is 7.12 secs and that's running a 10" lift and 1500 lbs of extra weight armor bumper, winch, Rv battery, a\c-d\c Inverter, Rock Sliders, rooftop tent. I have had 3 1st generation superchargers and they are awesome and better than nissan's there crappy s\c makes 25hp on exterras. The 1st generation didn't sell well because there so F'n expensive and if you don't add more fuel and 2 steps colder spark plugs your truck will knock bad on freeway. I went further and tuned mine. I own an innovative motorsports wide band o2 tuner kit and i tuned my truck my self data logging and adjusting a little at a time! I just beat my brother 2015 dodge ram1500 4x4 by 4 truck lengths. I love the Supercharger and i did my 1st S\C at 147000 miles.
