The actual data of oem fuel pump with OEM filter, was posted. In non biased form. Data showing where it fails. By Lucario Runner.

However, the topic was always so heated, by a few members, that the data was not accepted by the mods. They closed the thread and warned him not to create a new thread or ban. He posted the thread, and the few hours after when he came back to show me the thread, it was closed. No idea what happened in there, if anything at all.

I never even got to see it myself, and lost the copy of the disk.

The attitudes of a few ruined it for all, and the data was not allowed to be shared on the open forum. Testing to provide the data was performed in a lab. Yes, a research laboratory.

The only other person who was told the information, was @Moose1988 , since he was the one who supplied the pump and filter.

I have no need to lie. Even told Moose to go check the thread, then told him never mind, since it was deleted. Is the thread soft deleted or permanently? I have no clue.

 

Do I smell fuel pumps tonight? They are a pretty easy install.

 

I get the flow pressure thing. Granted, this is my first Tacoma, but I've never had a fuel pump failure on a Toyota. Doesn't the pump on our trucks run at a fixed speed to maintain pressure with a return line for excess flow?

 

Oh yeah I forgot about those 2 nuts! I had to use one of those magnetic stick things and try to get the first couple threads started, then put a socket on it.

Any chance you went my route and got the TRD SC under warranty? Why take the chance with a smaller pulley? You already spent way to much money for 27% HP gain. Why not a bit more for the pulley and a pump? You know if you don't you will never post the big mistake. I'm sure across the Tacoma Multiverse some have seen boom and never were brave enough to share the pain.

Just do it and be safe. Smoking an engine is always a bad thing. If I ever get the smaller pulley (6.5 years for the warranty I bought) I will get the better pump. By then, Unobtainium fuel will be available.

yea i saw 6 on cold mornings. now i'm regularly at 7-7.5 and dip up to 8 every so often

 

Anyone else besides sytfu510 running a supercharger with a snorkel?

 

That seems like starvation, but it should be a simple area calc. No holes in my fenders.

I'm looking in to it. As long as you use a large enough OD piping, you're not starving anything.

 

It's a safari snorkel so I have no idea what how large it would need to be. And please don't ask me to maths. I can't maths very well.

 

Airflows were tested with the s/c and pulled enough volume, only one I know of that was approved. Haven't seen ARB's numbers yet though

 

Yea I was liking the airflows before they dissappeared. Hopefully the ARBs have a large OD as well to support superchargers. On the flip side, im also gonna have fiberglass fenders, so i can either just do what Alex did, or take an ARB and try to retrofit

 

I'm thinking they should be fine. The neck of the airflow is actually pretty narrow and on par with arbs.
