    Not bouncing per say. It's taped directly to the boost port without a T fitting. It seems to hold whatever boost I put it at and not fluctuate. It does make a rattle noise around -0.5->+3psi though. I've tried the q-tip cotton in the tube and it seemed to help some but I've heard some individuals put an inline fuel filter. Didn't know if anyone here has had the same issue and how they fixed it.

    Revelation time.

    Check your supercharger bypass valve hose. Matter of fact, just replace it with a smaller one for a tighter fit. Mine slipped right off. Thanks for tip off @Torspd

    There is also a vacuum restrictor jet. If you run any pulley smaller than stock remove it. It is located at the vacuum port of the bypass valve behind the blower. As soon as you remove the hose you'll see it. I think that jet is causing sporadic boost readings and decreasing max boost consistency. It's a little brass piece. I removed mine and am going to run it. I should net better results as a whole now that that jet is removed and the hose is actually tight fitting to the valve and supercharger.

    10 psi consistent now in this 59* ish California weather at sea level.

    Change your hose or clamp it and remove the restrictor jet. It made all the difference on consistency and I am way happier now! :)

    Also, I think this little booger was the culprit for my cels, p0420/p0430. Once I tightened the hose .. cels have not returned. They should have by now.

    All this time I thought it was an exhaust leak ..

    4 trips to the muffler shop
    2 trips to the dealership
    3 trips to my buddys shop

    Re-tightened / re-checked the whole exhaust numerous times.

    Hopefully, my assessment isnt premature. Will update after few more day.

    TRD SC, UCON, CNG conversion, RC 6" (lifted 4"/3" air suspension) w/FOX 2.5, 315/70R17 Duratracs, RECARO seats, etc.
    Yes sir, I have to check those. I have had quite much ”turbo lag” nowadays although I have the supercharger, not turbocharger.
    I’d like to get rid of it, this might be the reason.

    It seriously made all the difference. Boost hits 10 now where as before it would not. The boost is much more consistent now also.

    As an added bonus vacuum also spikes higher now into 25 in. Hg. When decelerating so the blower is sealing up better now. Vacuum at idle is better now also. I'm not sure if the smaller ID hose did that or removing the jet did or both but I'll take it. :)

    I've been trying to, do you not know where the bypass valve is located at behind the blower? You have to remove the hose to see it. All I managed to snap a pic of was the jet itself, not it inside of the valve.



    It appears that some of that "turbo lag" at 2000 rpm until 3000 rpm went away after doing these mods. :)

    I know it’s back there somewhere......I didn’t do my install, I guess I can look at my instructions . So you took the hose off,.... took off that restrictor, then put the hose back on??

    I replaced the hose with a smaller ID hose because the one originally in place is too large and can be a source of boost and vacuum leaks. The site is not letting me upload the pics for some reason. I removed the hose, removed the restrictor with a small set of pliers, then replaced the hose with a smaller ID hose and that was it. :)

    Makes me wonder about afr.

    I know partial throttle can put boost around 5psi sometimes and still have afr around 13. Ive always had to babysit this on grades. Ill throw it into a lower gear (auto), and pull a higher rpm which seems like less load dependent on the grade. Since boost is load dependent, this means im not making boost at that moment if the right gear was found.

    That said, i can always mash the pedal in that lower gear and make boost with safer afr.

    Its the partial throttle i worry about.

    I have not monitored part throttle with it removed, however, this is a mod that was done by Tundra owners because they felt that their belt was slipping when it was actually was not, it was the jet and they never had issues with partial throttle applications. I would imagine their TRD tunes are put rich like ours are.

    Then again partial throttle and AFR is going to be dictated by pulley size and how rich you normally go during partial throttle.

    Okay, apparently Magnuson knows about the mod people are doing as far as removing it or modifying the orfice size goes. They have said you are fine removing it as long as you don't mind a very slight decrease in MPG. Personally speaking I did not notice the boost coming on any quicker and the engine is still just as streetable as it was before I removed it, so if I'm good with a 2.5 pulley the rest of you will be as well.

    This is a well known mod within the roots blower owners community, Grand Prix, GTO, Vette, Mustang, Lightning, Challenger (etc.) Owners know all about it apparently. Many just remove it because the the restrictor is meant to slow down the valve from working and many do not like that, but the drawback as well is that it actually limits boost and makes it less consistent. No brainer free mod.
