Turbos can be sweet for torque when tuned correctly. Look at ford EcoBoost. Think the twin turbo is to make toyota a contender. I think it's a nice set up. Just disappointed in the lack of equal support. I dont know everything though. If I knew more about computers and tuning I'd do it myself.

I agree on the equal support and am not saying the twin turbos is a bad kit, I just wonder of the same could be accomplished with a single turbo. I do believe ovtune said he wants to bring the twin turbo setup to the 4.0 as well.

I really want the v2 tune but I guess we have no right to complain since some people don’t have their first tune yet.

That’s where the market is, so for a business model it makes sense.

I’m happy with my 2nd Gen and don’t planning on changing since it’s almost paid off. But a factory moonroof would be nice.

If toyota came out with a spruce mica 3rd gen and the ovtune turbos were out I would be a big fat liar if I said I wouldn’t consider it.

Same with the best color PYRITE MICA...

I did consider Spruce when I started looking in ‘13, as it was time to dump my aging bimmer and 4Runner.

How frustrating would that be to have a handheld with no tune, and read about advances everywhere else. Things need to be fulfilled before more advances imho.

Ever since I saw the spruce I have been in love with that color I don’t know why lol. I really liked mgm on my old truck too but man toyota’s clearcoat is the thinnest ever it seems. Anywho back on supercharger topic I am going to ask this here and probably will ask in more threads depending on how many respond here:

For those with a boost/afr gauge:

When going up large hills on the freeway (say you are doing 70-75, ~2k rpm) and the truck doesn’t down shift, do you see slight boost (no more than 2 psi for me) and your afr stays at 14.7, or does it start to richen up slightly?

It depends on the angle of the incline. If the incline is on the steeper side, and I am either at 0" hg or 1.2-2.3 psi it will start to richen up. If it's a slight incline I have been at 1.2-2.3 psi and have seen mostly 14.7 afr.

I see. Me and OV having some emails shared. And he is telling me basically not to worry about it, but I am not so sure about that. Would like to get some feedback from people who have the ucon as well. I know you have the trd flash, which even though I am ovtuned it behaves the same as the trd flash does in that regard.

Since my exhaust install my afr is constantly fluctuating. Guessing an average isnt easy.

Trouble is boost pressure and its fluctuation back and forth to 0" hg is ever changing during an incline as boost pressure is not a steady thing, so AFR is always going to vary. Like OV is telling you I wouldn't worry about it because the ECM understands it needs to dynamically change AFR values to adjust for the constant changes in manifold pressure. It's if it actually stayed steady that I would be a little bit worried.

Tempting it may be. But I like the reliability of the s/c and all the testing that went into it, enough for Toyota to slap their name on it. I’ve had a few offers to on my truck but I don’t think I wanna do everything all over again to a new truck right now at least. Especially when this turbo setup isn’t proven for the long run.
So for the hand helds, I saw they are done.... no more........Well, that sucks. That’s all I wanted nothing more. Oh well

That handheld thing left me confused. Seemed like OV did an about face on the business model with that new plan.
