Not trying to discourage people from OVT. I'll be the first to advocate that their 1grfe blower program tuning works great....and very eager to upload the V2 calibration when available.

    Sorry to hear that Tor...

If i remembered correctly, HPF literally closed up overnight. No prior warning to employees or customers. Morning came and the gates were locked. A bunch of non local people had to scramble to repossess their property that was left with HPF. And i do recall, the brand HPF was sold to new owners who are running with it.

Sorry went off on a tangent....back to TRD blowers

It seems like most people are getting good results when they finally get everything working and flashed.

However, I got mediocre results with the handheld tune on the 2.7 pulley, so I feel like I'm still waiting to get my money's worth.

Not to deviate and sidetrack here, but unfortunately that is the economy we are dealing with in today's society. There is no such thing as stability and security for businesses and it seems as if all it takes to make a massive business shut down its doors seemingly overnight is a misfortune. People must exercise caution before they contribute their hard earned money toward a business.

So just got an email back from Gaget at URD. I was asking him about putting the FJ whipple supercharger on the Tacoma and he said the two 4.0L were completely different. I remember in previous posts somewhere I thought he said the motors were the same but hoses and height of the SC was the issue. Does anyone know anything about this?

You know, considering ALL boosted applications out there get a TREMENDOUS amount of aftermarket support, I must say I have observed what appears to be an UNDERWHELMING amount of support towards the boosted 2nd generation 4.0 1GR EFI programming... which in itself is a crying sin. As we who have been posting in the supercharger section are well aware a properly tuned engine is everything.

This section of the Tacoma is a little more than just an aftermarket niche, and given this truck's base weight ratio in comparison supercharged configuration before upgraded internals are a must, it is easily capable of hanging with or defeating the majority of today's modern day V8 drag race muscle cars.. something the 3rd Gen Tacoma cannot even dream at this stage in the game due to not only it's change in engine theory of operational design, but the challenge in itself presented in legitimizing a forced induction setup which can be properly be ARB (let's not forget CARB, especially these guys) approvable.

It's either the TRD tune, UCON, or (barely) OVTune... with a minimal amount of technical support or even knowledge of how the programming works due to the over complex nature of the ECM software platform.

It's as I said. Crying sin.
