    Not the rod bolts either. It is the narrow length of the neck, pressure of the powder metal rods. Inherently weak design. Similar to the 2uz. The rod will snap long before the bolts let go.

    Torque is what bends And breaks rods. high rpm's kills rod bolts.

    Exponential stress increases from 500 + rpm increase on stock components, coupled with the increased torque. That right there is the specific reason why URD turned the max rpm, on the UCON, when used with boost. Originally it was 6200. Now it is ~5700

    As rpm increase so does the recip wt.
    Can a rod fail from rpm yes. But they also fail do to rpm stress on the rod bolt.

    Even with all the mods and 2.85 pulley I'm still as rich as 9.9. The leanest I go is 10.6. I can't wait for the uconn so I can tune this thing

    That 09+ UCON has the absolute longest R&D time of something that requires a "plug" in order to work. It's pretty hilarious IMO. They're not trying very hard.

    It was way cool. They're getting 9 cars ready for TX2K16. While I was there they ran out of waste gates. Not good. 48 hours until cars leave on a truck. Some evidence of smokey burn outs in the street in front of the shop...
