    There was a guy somewhere on this forum that flipped an air duster upside down and sprayed the shaft until it was icy cool. He said that it really helped, but he is also the only person I've ever seen try that

    Its not gonna help. You're not gonna cool down the shaft enough to get it contract enough, and the heat of the pulley and the cold of the shaft would just work against each other quicker. Follow the instructions URD sends along and it works perfectly.

    I bought a toaster oven from wally world for $24.99, through the pulley in it next to the truck @400 degrees. Removed the old pulley, installed the lubed up install tool on the shaft, removed the baked pulley and set it on the install tool, put the washers/bearing on, screwed on the nut, held the tool with a wrench and screwed the nut with a ratcheting wrench. It went all the way on pretty easy. Had maybe 20-30 minutes in the oven. I spent more time screwing with a 3 jaw HF puller to remove the old pulley than anything else. I threw it away and used a bar puller instead.

    I had the problem @crashnburn80 noted in his write up. If I started the set screw in the SC shaft, the tool would screw it farther in the shaft rather than going in the tool and vice versa if I installed it in the tool first. Couldn't ever guarantee it was somewhat even in both parts? Gadget should have sent longer set screws. Partly why I installed the tool on the shaft, so I could use a really small screwdriver to hold the set screw in place to make sure it was somewhat evenly screwed in to the shaft and the press tool. Plus when I was practicing, I found it easier and less handling of the hot pulley. I never need a strap wrench as it went on so easy.

    Agreed that thing was total garbage. The thick claws did not fit well without interference on the SC body and the tool ended up breaking anyway, twice. The Craftsman unit I used worked like butter.

    Agreed on the longer screws. One possibility would be to put a dab of serviceable locktite on the screw before putting it into the tool and let it dry. This would ensure that it does not further thread into the tool and an equal amount of threads go into the tool and into the snout.

    Installed my URD fuel pump upgrade finally. AFR is now down around 10.2 at WOT, used to sit about 10.9-11.2. No more flat spots in the power band either. Also figured out why Im topping out at 7.5 boost on cold mornings, lots of exhaust leaks from the clamps URD provides with their Y pipe and exhausts. Guess I'm getting that bitch welded so I can see 8 PSI again someday.

    They would need to be some insane leaks to cause that type of boost. If that .5lbs of boost is cause by back pressure you won't gain anything by getting your gauge to read higher.

    My truck on the stock exhaust and 3.0 pulley read 8+ lbs of boost. Put in the Urd spec-u exhaust and it dropped to where it was supposed to be 6ish lbs. truck didn't lose any power in fact it gained power. Increase in boost was caused by too much back pressure which isn't a good thing.

    Ohhhhhh weird. Well, I saw 8 PSI when I first had everything bolted on, fast forward now about 6 months or so and while I was up under the truck I saw pretty much all of the joints for the exhaust and Y pipe have soot spots around the connections. Nowadays I usually hit about 7 lbs and early morning if I hit it hard in 4th I can see 7.5 lbs.

    on the 3.0 pulley I was seeing about 5-5.5psi
    2.85 pulley maybe 7psi on a cold morning mostly around 6-6.5psi

    The max Ive seen on 2.85 pulley is 6.5, @Brianawd did the switch to the 2.7 really make a difference?

    I used to hit 6.5 also before swapping out the intake. Your intake is your bottleneck. Replace it out with the URD or the AFe intake. You will hit 7.5-8 lbs of boost after replacing it no problem using the 2.85 pulley.
