TRD supercharger

Would that be for the sake of fitting an LS in there or for reduced weight?

 

I need more ground clearance so a lift spindle is pretty much a requirement at this point if I want to not absolutely destroy the truck on a race course.

 

I'm not sure I understand the question...

My point is that even with an LS in there you can keep 4WD depending on which way you go with the transmission and transfer case. If you're going to be swapping in an LS you can keep 4WD with a little planning.

If he's trying to save the front end weight that's another story. Around my area there isn't much reason to worry about the 200 pounds of weight a 4WD system takes up so no one goes 2WD. Out in the desert I could understand that may be different.

yea, I just dont use 4wd much anymore so i really dont need it. balancing pros and cons the weight reduction and extra 4" of ground clearance out weigh the need to retain 4wd. It would be very easy to keep with some simple planning, but for what I am using my truck for now and what I intend to use it for in the future keeping 4WD just doesnt make sense.

 

You should sell the components on here to someone looking to convert.

 

thats the plan. I'll have the whole powertrain with 97k and the URD set up up for grabs once we get going on this, front diff with yukon 4.88s, Camburg CVs etc etc

 

I'd be interested in the axles of you decide to sell everything

 

I'll need to unload the URD setup before anything else happens, but I will post a large FS thread once we get started.

That looks awesome bro! I'm being lazy and sitting on my TRS kit until the truck gets back. My excuse is I want to put the halos on a switch but Im not hooking up anything electrical until after the build

 

Soooo... Anyone have any leads on how/where to relocate the intercooler reservoir? I'm trying to set up a fuse block and it seems the hoses from the IC Res is gonna prevent me from doing this in the common location...

 

I think you'll have to move to the passenger side towards the firewall. I could only fit my catch can.

 

Dang it, I was afraid of that.

 

I had actually bought one of the Skygear boxes thinking I would put it right there, but after waiting forever, installing the supercharger, running some lights w/o the fuse box, and then installing the catch can, I gave up on that. I still have a bunch of things wired directly to the battery. Not ideal, but it works.

 

Yeah I'm relocating the battery to the bed so I'll then have room to install my SPod and Buss man fuse box and maybe build a tray that has room for a catch can as well

 

I'm running a TRD supercharger on my 02 double cab Tacoma with a 3RZ 4 cylinder . Right now I'm at 4.5 psi and just got the pulley to go up to 8psi . The only thing I wish I had was a intercooler but there's no room.

 

A Trd 4 cyl s/c?
