I never said they weren’t the same ride height.

Same, I had regrets right after I got the 2020 SR5. I had it for 4 months and sold it to Carvana and ordered my off-road. I've been wanting to upgrade to a Pro or a loaded off-road, but refuse to pay mark ups. Loaded offloads currently selling for 48k-50k which is ridiculous. The new GM twins are looking quite attractive but would rather not be stranded on the side of the road with lifter problems like the Silverado lol.

I traded a Z71 crewcab 5.3L Silverado for my TRD Tacoma. The chevy was the worst pos I've ever owned. Transmission problems, electrical problems, power steering problems. The Tacoma's been great and is still worth more than I paid for it new in December 2016. :cookiemonster:

Best advice I got from my buddy was buy a 90% of the time truck. If you use the extra features of the OR less than 10% of the time, then save your money…wish I had listened and saved myself the extra $$$. I have used the e-locker only a handful of times and still haven’t needed the crawl control. Probably would have got the SR if I could do it again.

Buy the TRD OR trim. They hold their value and ride very nice.

Or you could save even more money and just buy a access cab or crew cab 4x4 SR

Why does no one recommend the trail edition?

cheaper then the trd off road, but comes with a locker?

He mentioned hunting. Nothing like throwing bloody coolers in the back of your suv.

    Get the 4x4 sr5.

I thought a trail edition is a sr5 with a rear locker, special rims, and the oem Toyota lift kit. That’s it

These posts always turn into a “be like me because I need validation I made the best decision”.
I have my ‘22 TRD OR because I wanted a DC,v6,4x4, in mgm. I didn’t want an AC or anemic 4cyl. After looking for a month the dealer notified me they had been allocated what I was looking for but in TRD OR trim. There ya have it. In the end I do like the LEDs, the softer ride, and the wheels and tires. Honestly, I felt the price difference was relatively negligible and from the looks of things the resale for the package appears to hold its value. Not that that matters because in 2 years I’m giving it to my son for his first vehicle.

You can get a 5.3 powered 1500, with the 10 speed, with a factory DOD delete. I had one. CCSB Elevation trim (roughly an SR5). Really nice truck. It was totalled by a deer unfortunately.

I bought a TRD Off-road because my requirements were
    • V6
    • Access cab
    • Long bed
And this is what was in inventory (I worked at Toyota, only access cab in Ontario at the time!). I’ve come to appreciate the locker and believe it or not, oem built in nav when I’m lost and my phone shits the bed. I wouldn’t be unhappy with an SR5 but I certainly wouldn’t trade my truck for one.

Why had nobody mentioned where the real value in the truck is, the TRD Off Road sticker on the side of the bed!

Because it’s actually more expensive. You can get a base off road for less than a trail. And you can also get a MT in the off road. MT OR at 39k msrp is the best value trim in the industry

And a dealer mark up because they think an sr5 is a trd pro
