I was a finance mgr in the car business for 25yrs. I'm not shy when it comes to trading. I may end up doing exactly what you did.

My SR5 has the Hitachi's. Not sure they are the same as what's on the Limited. The first and only thing that has failed on my truck so far was the left rear shock but it was replaced because Toyota care covered it. The truck had a slight lean and, on closer inspection, had a small fluid leak.

Maybe it was just a QA/QC issue, but it does not instill confidence in Hitachi shocks. I have been wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

I would have to think that the Limited has "better" Hitachi shocks than what comes stock on the SR-5.

As I understand it, the shocks are the same on the SR5 and the Limited. Do you think the ride is stiff? I'm gonna search Craigslist and see if anyone local is selling their stock takeoff OR shocks. I have really good luck on Craigslist. Today I traded my Predator step bars for a 3 month old Leer topper. I gotta have it painted to match but DAMN, I almost felt bad when the guy traded me....almost....lol.

Was under that it shared with the SR.

I have the hitachis. When they die (they are stubborn) I’ll replace them with something rebuildable.

Yes but as I understand it, they are a different model/part# than the Limited and SR5s.

I don't know about judging ride quality because I haven't gone offroading yet. But the suspension feels solid and tight. I'd have to test drive the OR.

All I know is that my Hitachi's look like a Red Bull can for a shock absorber LOL.

SR, SR5, and Limited have the same suspension (Hitachi shocks).
Sport is stiffer (Hitachi, but not the same).
    OR is softer (Bilstein).

That's consistent with what I've found. I know the shocks from an Off Road will just bolt right up. My real question was if the springs were also different and there's a comment above that says that they are. What to do...what to do....

Looks like the OR has different coils:

^I misspoke here. I meant to say that SR5 and limited were the same springs and OR springs were different.

Hope you learned what you needed to here, OP. Didn't mean to mislead in my initial post.
