Oh Lord.....I had to see what all the shit was about. Now I can't Un-see it. My mistake.

"Tread lightly" is supposed to be about saving the hobby/sport/whatever-you-wanna-call-it from the worst of those who participate. In so far as I know, it's NOT target acquisition for a pissing contest.

Not saying who's right and who's wrong. Not my monkey.....not my circus. Not sure it's all that clear cut anyway.

OBTW, I once owned a brandy new 1984 SR5 4X4 regular cab, long bed Toyota Hi-Lux (Said so on the bill of sale) That's what they called 'em. Truth.

I've never heard of this specific acronym before but it is something that I have always practiced in regards to being out and about on the jetski, park, 4wheeler, dirtbike, hiking and biking. I always pick up trash in the areas I am hanging out in. Usually beer cans and bottles...I'll mumble under my breath "trashy a** people can't respect the land" and then continue on with my day.

I'll be sure to pass it on where I can ;-)

    I mean… it’s a Ford, you don’t care
I wanted to bump this because I think it's important. The more people who see this, the bigger impact it can have. Keeping the area we enjoy for others to enjoy down the road is the least we can do.

Side note, yes I dug it up, but it's not about how big of tires you can fit on a 3" of lift so get over it:rofl:

I wish I had a picture handy of the trash strewn around Forest Hill OHV I saw several years ago. Obviously, some numb nuts left trash around after a weekend of partying with shitty beer and vodka from plastic bottles, and thought “bagging” it was enough. Well, bears don’t see thin plastic bags as much of a barrier, so trash was covering a 200 foot radius.

We spent at least 2 hours cleaning it up. At least that scale of a mess isn’t a normal occurance.

What is a normal occance, is people not policing their brass when they go shooting in NF land, and is probably the thing that grinds my gears more than anything. We all like shooting, but please have the decency and self respect to clean up after yourself. I don’t think I’ve ever gone wheeling or motorcycle ridingwithout coming across a huge pile of shells, a washin machine, or more recently, a swiss cheese honda crx.

I’m not sure if this has been incorporated by Tread Lightly, but I saw some new thoughts about Leave No Trace, specifically here additional principles (the wording is mine, but the concepts came from LNT):
    - Support trail/access organizations and activities.
    - Minimize gratuitous social media posts about places, to minimize visits and impact.
    - Be quiet! No loud music on your portable Bluetooth speakers.

Animals. Or someone who is around but you don’t notice. Yeah, I know it sounds silly, but I’ve encountered people who were being loud, disruptive etc out on trails or camping, and then said, “Oh, sorry, I didn’t see you. I didn’t think anyone else was here”.
