Just found the link about soldering the tabs on the actuator. Also, talking with the previous owner... I purchased the truck while I was out of town but had my father in law take a look at it for me. I was under the impression it was 100% sat. I'm sure the previous owner will do his best to help the situation out.

But yes 58 Siesta, I will be looking into lift kits. I know I want black FN 5 star wheels and some beefy tires.

I purchased an ARB awning for it last night. We go to the 4x4 access on the beach here in the summer time.

A few updates to share recently. After a new front diff actuator install, the 4x4 now works as it should. I've taken out to Fort Fisher a few times and she does great in the soft, deep sand. That being said, I still plan on a 5100 toytec spring and AAL upgrade as well as FN Five Stars in the future. The leaf springs are quite creaky on the beach and I have some binding issues when stopping and starting on the street.

    Well now to some pics.

I'm some what of a neat freak so I purchased some coverkings for the front and rear. The rears fit like a glove but the fronts need to be adjusted to fit my liking.

I removed the funky crossbars that came with the topper and installed my thule crossbars from my old truck. Purchased some rockymounts bike racks as well. For the price you can't beat these things. Way cheaper than thule, yakima or kuat. $119 shipped on Amazon.

And my favorite, the carport! My wifes car gets the garage and I got tired of having a destroyed truck every time I came home from work.
Carolina Carports if you're interested. Guys installed it in less than an hour and did a great job.

5100's all around and Toytec springs set on 2nd perch with an AAL, 2" lift in rear 1 7/8" up front.

Just got off the phone with Dustin at FN Wheels and placed an order for a set up matte black 16x8, 0 offset Five Stars. Now for some tire shopping. Can't wait!

Also sprayed a coat of anti corrosion liquid on the undercarriage.

So the Tacoma has changed dramatically within the past 2 weeks. Installed a set of 5100s on all four corners with the Toytec coils up front set on the 2nd groove (1 7/8" lift) as well as an AAL in the rear (2" lift).
I've been drooling over the FN Five Stars since my 1st gen and I finally got them. Went with a 16x8 0 offset matte black with a set of Falken Wild Peak AT3W sized 265/75R16 for an additional 1" lift over the stock setup.
I see why people remove the mud guards now, looks so much better with them gone with the new wheel package.
I had purchased an ARB awning a while back and was in the mood to finally fab up some mounting brackets yesterday. They are simple but sturdy for what I will use the awning for.
Also installed a set of redline hood struts that I have had for a little while today.

    So....here is a few pics.

Simple SS bracket. I plan on sourcing some rubber "nipples" to cover the nut and bolts as well.

I'll be out at the Fort Fisher Recreational area at some point today. I always see a lot of Tacomas when I am there.

No 4wd on the road. Pretty sure it is an issue with the leaf springs. Since the lift there is no more binding, still a little squeak from the leafs though.

The truck did awesome in the deep sand on the beach last night. I was able to keep my speed up as well and had no issues with the front shocks bottoming out like when it was stock.
