Yea I have a goodyear and a tire works both about 5 minutes from my house. So surely one of those two will be willing to do the work and get paid.

So I'm looking at about $100 total for the install. Plus the great deal on tires from Tread.

$100 for lifetime rotation & balance? Damn, that's a good deal!

All depends where you go as far as total cost, I paid $60 total for all 4 plus changing out the spare..

I've run a few sets of them for a couple of years now. They balance out as well as a brand new tire, and they wear terrifically (vastly better than my Duratracs did). From the research I did, as long as you run proper tire pressure and maybe slightly on the high side (by like 2-3psi), you'll be just fine. Any failures out there are typically the casing itself failing, and not the tread failing or delaminating.

I run the Guard Dog on BFG AT casings and love them, the 3-ply sidewall is nice, and the tread grips everything I need it to with confidence. They're quieter than any true mud or m/t tire, roll smoother, but still perform terrifically in rock, loose, sand, dirt, whatever. Even snow; I expected I'd want to get the tires siped this last winter, but didn't find that necessary, it would have helped on the ice, but overall I didn't feel it was needed.

Most commercial tires are retread, but the difference with TW is that it's remolded, so the tread rubber is fully vulcanized and applied to the casing similar to factory production by high-pressure and high heat injection, rather than laid on like a retread.

Overall I can't recommend these tires enough, and I don't expect I'll be running anything but TW for many years to come.

Peerless. I know the guys at the shop by me pretty well, but they don't seem to have a problem with it. The new TreadWrights look so good they didn't really realize they were retreaded for a while. If you get the B2B remolds you shouldn't have a problem with tire shops giving you flack about that.

Just a heads up, treadwright is offering 10% off any tire purchased between now and memorial day. I believe the coupon code is

    SPRING10

I will confirm that when i get home but almost positive. I ran the number using that last night for a set of guard dog b2b in a 35 and they would only cost me $730 or so shipped! I really wish i had the money i need for them now. That was a $65 savings.

Got them mounted today but there was a major issue with balancing them. The weight for balancing was 20oz, 16oz, 15oz & 4oz. Way to much weight so I'll be calling them about this. The ride home was smooth though.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
did they try the static balancing? IIRC, treadwright calls for that specific style...at least they did when i had mine done.

Yup Jamie, they did the static balance. I was with the guy the whole time. Like I said, the ride home was smooth, way better than my BFG's but damn! That's a shit ton of weight stuck in the wheel!

Hmmmm...my 285/75/16 Guard Dogs are bead 2 bead. Unless they are just currently sold out. I didn't go with Claws because of the aggresive tread pattern....figured they wouldn't hold up to high mileage drivng very long.

About 12K miles on mine, still a shit ton of tread left and wearing evenly. No issues & they are staying balanced better than the KM2's I had before. Performance in mud is slightly worse than the KM's. Road noise is much higher with these tires....a high pitched whine vs the normal rumble that MT's usually have.
