    Time for another bump.

Financially it's looking like January will be the month for my tires. The Michelans I have are worn, have nails in them, and look/perform like crap. With shipping four new 265/75/16 Guard Dogs will be less than $600 without a group buy.

Needless to say, I want this group buy to happen.

I spoke with them as well. They are down for a groupbuy, but are having a inventory issue with the number of casings they have. They said to check back in the Spring.

Even if there was a minor shipping delay in order to do the group buy because of a shortage of casings, I think I'd still be interested if there was an incentive.

the incentive is new tire quality and outstanding customer service, at half the price...

I'm all for group buys, but with an item/company like this, i don't see you getting much more than $5-$10 off per tire.

the decision is, is it worth $20-$40 savings on 4 tires, to wait another 6 months and maybe have a group buy?

    just my $0.02

I agree with Colin, total price for 4 tires shipped to my house $725. I work at a dealer and typically get good prices on tires and parts, even with my dealer offering a constant buy 3 get 1 free, these were still cheaper to my door. I got the 285/70/17 guard dogs.

yep, you cant beat that price even if they only last 2/3 as long as a normal tire it would still be a good deal sence to my door they were $720 and MTR's are $350 a piece lol

Nice. I'll have to see them in person sometime. I'm on the fence about 285 guard dogs or 285 all terrains.

Agreed. But the fact that the group buy (if it happens) happens to be about the same time I was going to buy a set anyways... yep, I don't mind waiting to see if I can save $20-$40. I was already going to be buying treadwrite anyways. Maybe I should rephrase what I said earlier to "extra incentive"

Now, if someone has bald tires and is going to wait that long just to save that mount, that's dumb and not a risk worth taking. Especially with winter on the way for those that get snow/ice.

What are people's opinion on driving across the country on Treadwright guard dogs? Like 4.5k miles in a two week period.

Love mine in the snow! So much better than km2s(guess thats not saying much though since km2s blow. LOL). Got into snow up on mount rose by Tahoe and even in 2wd it was surefooted with conditions giving chain requirements.

I'll be doing about 1000 on mine this weekend so I'll let you know how it goes. At this point I don't think running that many miles would be an issue aside from the wear it would put on them

Do you think the wear would be significant?

Given that some people are getting 30k - 40k miles out of a set, the wear from your trip should be no more than any other name brand tire out there.

Just make sure you get an alignment and run the tires at the correct air pressure.
