I had some bad cracking on my first set a couple years ago. Started to show about ten months after I got the set. Was pretty bad a few months later. Called them up and they sent me a new set. Apparently the set I had was an older compound and they had just switched over to a new compound.

I've been running the new set since last may, and they're now starting to show signs of cracking.

Btw, the first set were guard dogs size 265/75/16 load d. New set I requested same size but load c.

Are those the bead to bead or the normal retreads?

Yea mine are 265/75/16 Load D. They only had loads D and E.

I've only had mine on my truck for just over 1 week. By the pics I posted above, do you think those are bad? or somewhat normal? Remember I just got em mounted two saturdays ago.

Call them and try and request the bead to beads. That cracking is only going to get worse. Must be a bad carcass they used. Unfortunately for me the cracking/dry rot was around the edges near the lugs.

    Dear Reid,

Thank you for the pictures, I have sent them to our production manager for further review. I will be in touch with you as soon as I have the information that I requested from him. If you have any questions before then please e-mail me back or call me.

    Thank you,

    Mike

That's the message I got confirming that they received my warranty submission. I'm gonna give the guy a call tomorrow to see what they think. And as for the B2B's I don't think they have em in my size and tread pattern (according the the website), but who knows :notsure:

Mine have similar cracking but have never really gotten any worse. I will probably order up a new set next year or go with the General Grabbers.

    Mine are

After first mount/install just over a week ago I had vibes and shaking at 65+mph. Took it back on Friday and now have vibes and shaking at 60+mph.

I guess I'm gonna take it back again to have them redo it instead of keep adding on the weights.

    Here are my numbers:

    Initial mount/balance
    LF - 5.25 oz.
    LR - 4.25 oz.
    RF - 5.25 oz.
    RR - 3 oz.

    Re-balance
    LF - 8.25 oz.
    LR - 8 oz.
    RF - 4.25 oz.
    RR - 4.25 oz.

oh wow... worse than mine. only two of mine took exactly 5oz, the other two were 2.25oz, and they are 285's, so thats not bad. but the fucking things shake like hell around 47mph and up. i had them do the static balance, but aparently treadwright says to have them do a static balance, then divide the weight in half and put it on the outside AND inside of the tire. when i told them to do this they said that wouldnt work, and insisted on either dynamic or static. I fucking knew getting BFG MT casings was a piss poor idea.

Yea the shaking drives me nuts and will even more if I don't get em fixed before my 1200 mile road trip. I called Treadwright's warranty department and the woman told me that the guard dog's in my size and load range can take up to 8 oz. per but I'm not satisfied with the balancing issues as of now.

They also told me that they know some people run aftermarket wheels and most likely will only add weights to the inside and have no issues. I guess I'm not one of the lucky bunch :( hopefully DiscountTire doesn't start charging me for all the rebalancings

Mine balanced up fine. They are 285/75/16s mounted on FJ-80 wheels.

    Wardens in Ds.

Our Discount Tires went to shit here after I went there for many years. Luckily we got a Belle Tire and they are great!

I think I might take a chance and go to another Discount Tire in the area if I can. See if they can fix the issue or restart from scratch and take some weight off. idk.

i dont think you understood my question. what brand sidewalls do you have? i had a set of guard dogs on toyo casings that balanced up fine. however, this set on BFG casings wont balance worth a fuck.
