I'm curious if the extra grip is noticeable and if they last longer than a tire without the Kedge Grip

they don't last as long with kedge grip. scott has the kedge grip guard dogs. you won't hear from him for a while since he's recovering from Sandy. he may have some info on them in his build though. user: brutalguyracing

That's good to know. I was just wondering because they are out of the non-KG 285/75/16 Warden A/T, but they do have the same tires with KG in stock.

Mine have the Kedge, I'll have to see how they wear. At the price of the tires, wearing out a little faster was less of a drawback than the benefit of increased wet and snow performance for me.

Initial impression on my guard dogs after driving on them for 2 days- they're loud. LOL. Seriously, I dont mind tire noise, but they're loud. Far louder than my KM2s or the MTR kevlar's. Overal traction seems good on road, so if they end up being awesome tires with the only draw back being noise, I'll be buying more sets in the future. :) I hope to get them offroad at least a little some time in the next 2 weeks. We'll see though.

Oh yeah, I originally bought 3 of them used so I ordered a 4th to complete the set. I requested a matching BFG AT carcass when ordering, yet got one with a KM2 sidewall. A quick call, and the next day I received a tracking number in my email that they were sending a replacement BFG AT carcass tire for me for their shipping mistake. No hassles, no charge, nothing. Absolutely wonderful to deal with the company. Received the new one today and will be mounting it on a matching wheel so I have a set of 5 with matching spare. Props to treadwright!

I would be interested to hear from someone who has had both the guard dogs and wardens and your take on wear, performance on and off road, level of road noise, general handeling characteristics. Please include the load range (c,d,e,etc.) of your tires.

My buddy at work has the wardens in the same size as my guarddogs. The wardens are not near as loud.He has had his 7000miles just done his first rotation still look new. Both tires are good. But if you dont like road noise I would definatly go with the Wardens...

Big tires, big lift, Lots of stuff's.
Mine do not have the kedge grip and they are beasts in the snow. I air down and wheel in deep snow with my runner. I broke trail last year, they did great.
