I called his work phone number and talked to the secretary. She said that he is out of the country and will be back next week on Monday. I will not post the company he works for or their phone number, I know if it was my company in florida I wouldn't want hundreds of phone calls. If it gets nasty I may pm certain people his work information but not yet.

I wouldn't be screaming scam right now.

The unannounced trip wasn't cool by any means.

I've been holding my tongue, hoping this doesn't take the turn that the other thread did.

Please think about what you're posting and the rhetoric you're using. I don't want this thread closed too. It'll be a no-win situation then; we won't have open communications with Troy (I'm sure the mods will look down on a third thread about the same topic), and Troy will be inundated with PMs every day.

I feel the same way. If he has said something about he would be gone that's one thing. But to up and leave everyone hanging is another. Hopefully this will start to be resolved Monday when he returns. Until than its just a waiting game.

So it's confirmed that he is actually out of the country? In all honesty, even if he is out of the country, he is clearly able to log on, so an update should have been given by now. Tell me it's still not looking like a scam.

I'm giving the last benefit of the doubt while still giving you guys as much help as I can.

His secretary says he is out of town

Hopefully you get your lights, if not, I hope you get back what you invested.

No hard feelings towards you Alex. You were a customer and just helped out organizing the group buy. I have no doubt in my mind that if you had known this was the way business was going to be handled, you wouldn't have been so supportive. I agree that we should've been informed that he would be leaving the country. Perhaps it was a family emergency. I can only hope that this will all be resolved. But something certainly seems fishy. And like Alaskantoy said I'd hate to see this thread closed like the other. Lets try and keep things relatively civil.

Thank you. I just wanted the 2 4" XT lights for setting up a list :pout:

We are keeping it civil. We have all teamed up with volcom at this point...

Just to clear things for everyone (set my mind at ease)

    How I got involved:

I was prowling around t4r looking at the various venders on the site and took a look at trek. I saw there were these little lights and I thought they would be great as reverse lights, so I posted a link on tacomaworld (TW). Not much later, Troy signed up on TW and said "wow I got 20 hits from this one page. If any of you are interested in a group buy, I'll give you 2 4" XT's for setting up a list" I got to lead the GB because I was the one that posted the link.

I wanted to get my 4" XTs early to be able to test them and demo them. I found out he was heading up to Portland, ME to do a project and I met him at the airport to pick up the lights. He is in fact a real person.

I thought it was simple. Set up a list, update it, and my job was done once the GB closed.

How we know he is a real person:

If you look his name up you will find his home address as well as his LinkedIn profile. Calling the business phone you will get his secretary.

Someone called today. The secretary said he is out of the country on business without telling us..... Lame

Honestly guys, I want to apologize, I definitely went about this whole thing horribly. I was unhappy with the customer service from the start, and I jumped the gun on calling out Troy publicly on it all. I should have kept it to PMs between him and I. i let myself become aggravated as well as responded to some of you guys defending Troy. To me, I'm willing to put up with alot of BS if the customer service is spot on.

That being said, Kinda Sorta glad I backed out when I did.

I'll let you say it once. You told us so. Only once.

Should have considered your points instead of following in blind faith

No, I'm a bigger man than that. This isn't a good situation for anyone right now. I'm honestly hoping this all gets cleared up and everyone at least gets theirs lights or money back. The last week or so has definitely been a roller coaster though.

Funny (or ironic) how that happens, by the time you've earned the right to say 'I told you so' it's usually to the point that things are so bad, you don't really want to :(
