    Trying to find the right words without escalating one side or the other.
    Maybe its this;
    It seems everyone just had to be right, instead of doing right.

    None of it had to happen. I do respect what the officers have to do by protocol, its often not so much a choice like people think. after hunting my whole life and growing up around pets, its a bit heart wrenching watching the dog become the victim for the humans failing.

    He's a POS. Could have maced him, tazed him. That's a sick thing to do to an animal thinking of protecting the owner. Even if the owner is a Dbag.

    Yeah, classy. Killing a dog is classy. If you don't get pissed off at that, then you're a POS.

    It's extremely sad but as others have said, the dumb ass owner got his dog killed. He shouldn't have even been in that situation to begin with and to take it further he failed to secure his dog. I have a German shepherd who is my best friend, but I probably would have done the same thing in the situation. Hell the one cop even tried to grab the leash. And it's easy to sit at a computer and type out what should have been done, but in that split second that something like this happens you have to react. And the officers reacted in the manner they felt appropriate to protect themselves and friends.

    Arresting the guy was not a split second decision.

    If anyone shot any of my dogs, I would retaliate no matter the consequences - no matter who did it. My dogs would only hurt someone by licking them to death.

    They were rhythmic if i remember right, dogs alive. :notsure:

    If its nervous system were going wack, its whole body would go wack. the reason it wasn't standing...well you try to stand with one leg/side with a proportionally sized bullet(s).

    I hope I'm wrong, but I think the poor dog was kicking in pain. It did try to run back to the road just before its death throe.
