We're not sure what went down because the video was edited. From what I've heard the dude parked and was playing loud music with his dog, filming the cops with his dog, and generally injecting himself into the operations there with his dog. And he didn't roll up with windows for his dog. Yeah, I'd say he was pretty damn stupid. If you're gonna roll up to a an active LEO scene with your dog, and then fiddlefuck around there with your dog, and essentially expect to get arrested with your dog, then you're a POS dog owner and don't be surprised when the cops put your dog down when it jumps out of a car and threatens them.

Some friendly tips for giving rep on TW, you don't have to put the thread name in the rep comment area, it shows you what post you got the rep for. You can use this spot for an awesome creative comment like "stupid yourself"

really sucks for the dog. but the owner should have made sure to secure the dog. i know if i was in that situation i would roll the windows up enough for his nose/part of his head to fit out. maybe turn the car on with a/c.

    The better coast
He puts the key in the ignition to roll up the window then the cops say he was trying to flee.

Officers should have left him to do his thing. Not like he was hurting anyone.

anyone who is blaming the cops in this video needs a swift kick to the balls. folks need to stop it with the "if that was my dog" bullshit, you are probably not in the hood and not a moron irresponsible owner.

True true, I feel it was handled wrong and the POS owner got the dog killed. I still think the cop could have tazed or maced the dog but guess you cant change what was wrong. Still dont think its right to leave the dog like that tho

The dog owner is to blame... I had a debate earlier about this.

There were 3 other angles of this, The guy drives up in the black mazda. Stops in the corner all awhile that loud music is coming from his rental Mazda 2... The guy starts wondering around closer than everyone else has. He was asked to turn down the music and get across the street... Where he denied.

The police were there because of a hostage situation where the perp had a gun and they were trying to talk through the loud speaker on the APC.

From that angle in the OP you can't hear it because of the guys car stereo but he is screaming at the police as he is being detained so he's not being exactly compliant...

The guy should of A: Listened to the police in turning down his stereo and getting across the street like everyone else. B: Rolled up the windows more on his car.

A taser is a bit of a one hitter quitter, If you miss then you have to reload. Pepper spray/mace won't stop the dog for long it will still be wild and even more pissed off... a gun carries more rounds and stops the animal.

That is so beyond not ok. My old lab would have done the same exact thing if someone was putting their hands on me. Not aggressive. Scared and yelling for his dad was all that poor pup was doing. I'm so sick and tired of douche gun wielding idiots of any factor shooting a domesticated dog. Cowards should not be able to carry a gun. Anyone who knows dogs knows that pup was not a threat. This is not anti LEO, but absolutely anti douche. That whole situation could have ended so much better.

You mean like the owner coulda ACTUALLY secured the dog in the car?? Or complied with the police instructions and stopped causing a distraction in the area??

Owner set the poor dog up for failure. Dog is a victim for sure...but the owner is responsible for the situation - The cops had to react to the hand they were dealt.

Really? The only outcome was to put a round in the pup? Yea, cowards and not trained. Senseless act of violence in my opinion.

I am not sure why the guy was walking around video taping like he was a serious badass. He should of distanced himself more.
