I did that with tires before, I used to buy 35s off Craigslist, run them for a bit on the Tacoma then sell for profit, I did that a few times, haha. I do a lot of modifying on jeeps/trucks, mainly Tacoma’s in the Cleveland area. When I say my money makes me money, I refer to investing, that’s my main “job”, but I get to do it off my phone on my couch.

I read that Ford adds something called "turbo silencers" into the intake system of their ecoboosts. I removed them, who doesn't like more turbo noise? I would honestly take the turbos over a N/A V8.

Merry Christmas man! I will try to get a sound clip, I even got the exhaust to backfire, interesting, but the whine is a lot more noticeable. I like.

Do the VTA mod. Had it done to my ecoboost, and it makes for some great noise too :D

I know you already know this, but anything that reduces noise also reduces power.

Most of the time. I think this restricted airflow a bit, the canes inside are big, only so much can flow so fast through the pieces. I thought about doing a cold air intake, but they are useless, I just got the same sound, if not more sound, by removing these than spend $500 on a intake kit.

Makes the whirly wind suckers go psssssh when you let off skinny pedal :D

If you really want those turbos to sing, gotta get a quality CAI and OffRoad downpipes then you will hear lots of spoolage

Those are actually meant to help in noise reduction and turn create a smoother air delivery to the turbos. Instead of the air bouncing off the internal walls of the charge pipes those things create a spinning air that is less likely to be turbulent in the tubes. One of the engineers who helped design them commented on the forums about them one day and dropped some knowledge.

That’s exactly what I thought, spinning the air makes it less violent per say, I guess it would technically speed up the air too but, I like turbo noise more, I had looked into the AFE stage 2 kit but $800? Nah. I will check out that VTA mod and see if you can do it on the Raptors

Also, you need to do the ecoboost dead spot pedal adjustment every now and then. The ecoboost has a bad dead spot and the TPS reset helps with it.

Turn key to ON (don’t crank)
Slowly (and I mean real slow) press gas pedal to the floor
Slip your foot off to the side so the pedal can rebound fast
    Turn key off
Repeat for total of 3 times
On 4th key turn, crank up and go give it the beans for a good drive to keep the TPS at that setting

Makes sense. The turbo COIs on my brother's F150 were low to the ground which was a concern for sucking in water, also. That was 2014 so they probably have a better setup now.

Yea the air box is waaaaaay up high now. They also redesigned the “whatmanypeoplecalltheintercoolerbutitsnot” to help reduce the condensation issues

So I'm young and naive here, how does one get into this? (investing). Is it something you went to school for? Certifications you can get? I'm finding that the "go to college and find a job with a paycheck" route leads to being content, sometimes scraping by, but not really thriving. I'd like to start righting the ship while I'm young and finding other ways to make money.
