I think you're going to find that the SAE Standard relates to lights - which are made up of a housing, lens, reflector and light source (bulb in this case). The OEM fog lights definitely comply with the standard - when you use the approved OEM or replacement bulb. Changing to a completely different light source (like an LED) will render the fog lights non-compliant due to the completely different way an LED works. Halogen bulbs produce an omni-directional "orb" of light for the reflector and lens to re-direct. LEDs produce "directional" light which is not evenly distributed (like the halogen orb) which leads to it getting scattered by the reflector and lens. This is what produces the "artifacts" above the cutoff line and thus distracting glare for oncoming drivers.

A more telling set of photos would be a "before" set with the OEM fogs and bulbs, then an "after" set with the new LED bulbs. I'd bet next week's paycheck that the OEM's have a nice, clear pattern and cutoff with nothing above the cutoff.

BTW, Nothing against CaliRaised on this one. They have many fine products and I even have one of their LED bars behind the grill on my personal truck. But I consider headlights, tail lights, fog lights, etc. to be safety items and their proper performance is very important to me. If you're looking for something that just "looks cool," this might just be the product for you.

I asked @CaliRaisedLed on IG on their soon to be released SAE Amber fog pods.
They said: “we will not be. These are taking over for the SAE pods”

These meaning the Tri-color fog bulbs.

I suspected the same thing earlier this week, and they clarified saying that wasn’t the case. My guess though is their new SAE light is only in white, not amber or selective yellow, which may be the point of confusion.

If that's the case, I highly doubt the tri-color bulbs will conform to the SAE standard. One look at the wall shot pretty well shows that. Too much scatter / glare above the cutoff line. Sad.

If I have them turned on to yellow, then turn off the truck, will they come back on with yellow or do they start with white?

if you don't have a 3rd gen setup would these work with a 3 or 4 position switch? could be an option for the earlier gen trucks

It will work with the switch that is provided on earlier trucks as well.

How would these compare to a set of projectors? I have the Blazer projector fog light mod on my truck and I'm shopping around for bulb options. I'm going with either LEDs or a hid bulb.

    Edit:
I guess what I'm asking is how the light output would be compared to a 35watt 5500k bulb

Hi there! I can't speak for the other bulb since I have never seen one in action! But we stand behind our products!

So the 05-10 is a h10 45w bulb. The 11+ is a h11 55w bulb. Do these bulbs draw less than 45w? Because swapping connectors is easy enough to do.

I'm just gathering information before I commit to anything.

This bulb and a HID bulb cost roughly the same, but having an Amber option would be great living in Maine.

    Thanks man

I have the tri colored fogs, and the yellow fogs do not come one automatically. The fogs always default to the 6k color on start up.

I wouldn't, the fog lights don't project as far as the headlights.
