Tribute to my father

    A great man passed today. In his 86 years on this earth he fought in World War 2, was in the British Merchant Marines and the USAF. He was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and a licensed ship captian. He built many sailboats by hand ranging from 8 foot prams to a 65 foot Slocum Spray. He could navigate with a sextant, compass and chart or a loran but never needed a GPS. He could build a house, wire it and plumb it with ease. He was a chief lab technician, a dockmaster and a salesman. He had an affinity for air cooled VWs, expecially the vans. He was an amazing gardener as well. But most of all he was the best father a man could ever want. His passing leaves a hole in many hearts and he will be missed. I love my father and am proud to say I am his son. :oldglory:
