This is from Eaton website. If you wanna tell the engineers that design the springs that are on most every car and truck out there that they are wrong, be my guest. Their number is on the website

"All springs will settle over time, however I believe your question should be “How much will springs settle shortly after being installed?” The answer is very little providing the springs are the right springs for the vehicle."

He goes on to talk about plan for spring weight for your vehicle in a completed state because as you add more parts and mods they add weight to the vehicle and will load the suspension more. Also talks about Springs being heat treated and cycled so that they don't change when you install them.

Really dude? Are you still having a whole separate conversation with yourself?

This is the relevant part that the rest of us are discussing.

All springs will settle over time, however I believe your question should be “How much will springs settle shortly after being installed?” The answer is very little providing the springs are the right springs for the vehicle.

The only reason I had anything to say in this thread, as well as the other couple that chimed in at you, at all is because you made a hasty generalization saying
Then quoted an Eaton engineer who stated that they do settle, albeit a little.

Anyway, you can go back to discussing this with the rest of the folks that have you on ignore, the OP's solution of adjustable coilovers will at least let him choose his lift height so no issues there.

So you accuse me of semantics, then go on to knit pick my exact choice of words?

You knew perfectly what I was talking about. And you still do. I know you are not retarded so stop acting like it. You don't wear it well.

Perhaps they are 5100's for a bigger pick up like a dodge perhaps! My experience with access cabs. They seem to either sit a bit higher or differently the a dbl cab. Throw a set of aal in the rear and call it good to get rid of the bro lean! ha Good luck and hopefully you will settle on the right lift you are seeking! Fyi love my toytec boss its good for the right now look. just not sure how much weight it will support so bp 51's or fox maybe be in my future!

Checked model numbers and they are all good. And I have an aal in the back so at 3.5 inches in the front I would have been exactly level but I don't want more than about 2.75 for wear reasons. I agree that the weight is slightly less that a dcsb which could account for that extra inch. Will try the toytec/eibach springs and see how she sits.

Eibach 620s here on 5100s set at zero.....1/4" lean spacer on drivers side.
Rear 5100s, tsb leafpack, overload taken out, icon progressive aal.

    Fwiw, 4400lbs on a scale.

Half a tank of gas, sliders, full toolbox, and myself in it.

    Just about 2" all around.20160601_170333.jpg

Did you actually drive the truck after install? Or did you just drop it to the ground then measure?

Drive it around. 4.5 inches before and 3.5 after driving around. Just bought the toytec/eibach 620 coils and am hoping those will do the trick.

I installed my 5100's with Eibach 112620 coils. With the billies set at 0 I got 1.5" of lift. I moved the billies to the .85 setting and got 2.5" the truck is an AC 2.7l AT 4wd

Talking about 2 different contexts. But you know that. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are not stupid. Although you are really trying hard to prove me wrong.

It says all Springs settle over time meaning eventually they will weaken and fail. Talking about years.

The question Eaton is answering is "I installed new springs, how long do I have to wait until they set to their final ride height". The term settle is being used two different ways. Most people think you lose an inch or whatever within a couple weeks or 100 miles or whatever which he is saying wrong. They are set right away.

The other guys know this they are just giving me a hard time by taking it literally
