It always is isn't it? I really need to reconsider this whole "work" thing. It is really cutting into my fun time.

Would like to do this in the future as well. I will need to upgrade rear shocks before I get to that point

Love the build man! Just wondering how did you like those Falken Wildpeaks? I'm thinking of getting a set in 33" and I'm trying to see if I'm making the right choice!

Thanks! I'm running Duratracs, never had any experience with the Falkens, but I have eyeballed them myself a few times.

Oh yea, whoops, it looked like you were running the falkens in some earlier pics.

I had Hankook Dynapro ATM's for a while, pretty similar look. They were nice tires as well, just wanted to go up a size and got a good deal on the Duratracs and TRD OF rims.

I have heard a lot of negatives against them on this site, but have had nothing but good experiences with them. Great off-road, never and issues popping a sidewall, and they are great in the snow which is a big factor in my commute.

So another day off and another roadblock to installing the Dakars. such is life, hopefully I can get them on next Wednesday or Saturday.

Once the Dakars are on I'm going to have a pretty big rake. I want to bump the front up to get closer to level. I'm fine with some rake, but the front has dropped down quite a bit with the added weight of the bumper and winch, and needs to come back up. I need to upgrade my front coilovers eventually, but until that time comes I'm going to experiment with bumping up the adjustable rings on the billies a notch ore two. Going to use the method in the thread below. Seems to be pretty tried and true. Has amybody ever used this method??

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/billstein-5100-easy-install-method.211535/

It would be nice if I could somehow compress the coil enough while still mounted in the truck to just move the retainer clips up, but it doesn't seem like that is possible.

It was a good day for the truck. Finally got the Dakars installed. Took me a little under 4 hours by myself in the driveway. A good 75% of that was breaking bolts loose. After soaking in PB blaster for a month it was still a struggle. 2 broken sockets, one chipped tooth and a fat lip later though, what a difference...

    image.jpg

Gave me about 3" more lift over the Toytec AAL and stock 3 leaf pack. I'm sure that will settle A bit. The billies are definitely the limiting factor in my rear travel now. Time for longer shocks and extended brake lines.

Trigger also got new shoes. Cooper ST Maxx 285/75-16. Really happy with these tires after seeing them in person. Will be a great compromise between an off-road tire and a daily driver .

    image.jpg

Still need to disassemble the billies up front and play with the adjustments to get the front end back up where it should be, but that is for another day...

Nice truck! You'll love the ST Maxx, I saw your photos over in the Maxx thread. You'll wanna get longer rear shocks for sure and make sure to get the stainless steel extended lines as well. That will also help with pedal feel.

Thanks man! The list never ends for sure. Definitely happy with the Coopers every time I drive the truck. Now just need to get them off-road.

Been meaning to upgrade the battery since I added the winch. Finally got around to it today. Optima yellow top.

    image.jpg

Now time to add a fuse block to clean up the wiring.

Thanks! Much like life everyone will tell you what you can and can't do with your truck. In the end, find what makes you happy and who cares about what anyone else has to say!
