    me...
I have never joined a forum before, but alas I have never been this much in love...

I have always wanted to be a proud Taco owner, but being as Toyota is so damn equally proud, and rightfully so, I have always been weary of dropping 10-25k on a used vehicle.

I have great credit, and yet a loan on a 6 year old or newer Taco would have really restricted my musical hobbies wingspan.

I have never owned a truck before and felt with winter on its way and all the camping I do, it was time to treat myself. Enter Trillian...

I found her as a one owner truck with 112k miles at a local dealership for 13k. I ended up driving her home that night for 11k cheesing it the whole way home. Had I played hard to get and came back in a couple days, I may have got her closer to 10k, but I had been in the market watching Tacos drop left and right in far worse condition, more miles, more owners, etc. Not to mention I was set on a manual transmission and felt more comfortable buying from a reputable dealer. I wasn't going to let this one slide.

So here we are. I was a bit weary of buying an extra cab model as I have a saint bernard. I always figured I would get a topper and he could ride in back.

In light of how I may have to transport my kayak directly in my truck bed with a hitch extension, I may need to get creative, remove my front seat, and have my giant wingman next to me. I would of course transport the seat with me in case I meet some fun people on my travels. Im looking at purchasing a used "Wildernest" camper topper and building truck bed boxes accordingly. I'm young and have a backpacking tent, but those wildernest toppers look so much fun.

I will have her paid off in 2 years and always thought I could trade her in for a 6 year old double cab taco, but I'm really falling in love with these first "gems", and am tempted to commit and go all out. Suspension, lift, tires, armor, etc. I've only owned her a month now, so this winter will tell me alot. In all honesty. 2nd gen tacos just don't look as sexy to me anymore...

Glad to be surrounded by like mided individuals regardless of what year our trucks are. I'm never looking back. Unless it's through my rear view mirror to marvel at my rolling home of infinite adventure! I wish us all the best of luck with our little tanks...
