I used a utility knife and cut from the back. There is a nice crease you can follow.

Since you've changed the aerodynamics, you may have done more harm than good speaking of MPG. If Toyota found a smaller air dam would be better, they'd put that configuration on. That said, I saw zero difference when I took the dam off of my 2018 Sport. If you like to look of the modified dam, great. Your truck and it should please you not us a-holes here.

Agreed. Line on the back or no line, mine would have looked like the time I cut my own hair.

We should form an air dam weirdo mod thread. There’s you, the OP, the two guys that trimmed it to fit the pro skid, etc. I want to use an extra air dam to extend mine even lower; so I can join the club.

I did about the same as the OP, but it just wasn't doing it for me, so I trimmed both sides a bit more to more closely follow the contour of the bumper. I also painted the factory skid plate aluminum silver. This works for me for now until I get a different skid plate and 2" lift.

    Work in progress...
OP, have you noticed any strange whistling noises around 35mph since trimming your dam?

Shaved door handles and all. Did you rock the custom gate with the crooked license plate mount?

Not the greatest front view of the air dam, but I trimmed mine similar to the O.P. two weeks after I bought the truck. Only for looks not functionality. IMG_2543.jpg
