Trip Information screen mpg reset (“Previous Best” question)

Did a search and couldn’t find any info. Having no luck in my paper manuals either.

If you clear the mpg, will it reset the “previous best” mpg? Hoping it will stay, but don’t want to try it without knowing for sure.
