Today I noticed that my MPG per tank display was higher than yesterday. I then noticed that both trip meters had reset themselves at the beginning of my commute today. I'm wondering if the battery may have gone weak, but I had no trouble starting. I do notice that if I have the accessory position turned on that when I turn on the ignition the display will show 'Check charging system'. Is this normal? I do have the smart key.

EDIT. I will continue this in the master thread on this issue.

The system seems to be set so when the engine is turned off your trip is over and a new one starts when you restart the engine. That is what my truck does. I intend to use my Garmin on long trips. I am not sure the Navigation system is as good as the Garmin in the Toyota nor is the average speed calculations etc.

    Take Care

Yes it recalculates your maximum range based upon fuel in tank and average speed.
