It's glued/taped on. Just get some floss or fishing line and work it off on a warm day, clean it up real nice with some Goo Gone and ispropyl alcohol and paint away, then stick it back on with some 3M tape.

Thank you. I thought it was glued on and I read on another site that its kinda of a pain in the ass to do. I am also worried that once I try to put it back on it wont be done right. Anyone try to paint it on the truck? What type of paint should I try and use?

If you decide to take it off to paint, place painter's tape around it to give you a reference to align it after its painted.

You should do the first Tacoma headlight eyelashes and post it on here. That'll stir the bucket

Most folks use Plastidip. To be honest you could get away with not even removing the badge if you're only painting the 'Pro' part of the badge. Just get a lil' dixie cup of the paint and some art brushes and do the best you can with some cleaner and q-tips handy for any mistakes.

I have a Pro badge I could sell you if you wanted one to paint. I bought it as a TRD Pro badge, but only used the TRD part.

thank you everyone. I meant TRD ..typo... I think I am going to try and leave it on there and paint it myself. I guess if I screw it up I have no choice but to take it off and replace. Thank you for the offer to buy that pink tacoma but I have a black out truck and only want this badge and I just want the pro to be a hot pink to match a few things i have done to it. I get it most of you guys prob hate it but thats ok because I love it. Its all me

It's super easy to remove. It'll look way better in the end if you paint it off the truck. Otherwise you're dinking around at weird angle with little brushes and it'll just end up a shit show.

I just replaced my chrome Tacoma badges with matte black ones. I would definitely recommend removing the badges from the truck in order to avoid getting any pink paint where it’s not supposed to be.

As others have mentioned, use a heat gun (or blow dryer) to heat the adhesive behind the badge and use some fishing line to separate the badge from the truck. Goo Gone works great but I had better luck using “Turtle Wax Sticker & Adhesive Remover” which I picked up at Wal-Mart.

Whatever you decide to do, take some pics! I’d like to see what the pink Pro badges look like :)

    A few.
If your going to do on the truck, I would try to find a pink colored plasti-dip and use that. The letters can be removed from the badges from the inside if you remove them, by using a Dremel tool to grind off the tips on the inside and using adhesive to glue them back on to the badge.
