Trouble code B2780 need help

    My truck is throwing the listed code "push switch/key unlock warning switch." I can't program any keys or remotes because of this. I think this is the switch that is linked to the ignition that causes a chime when the door is open when the key is in the ignition. It's causing my imobiliser to not deactivate until the ignition is on. Does anyone know where this switch is? How do I remove the steering column plastic to get to the ignition. I'm trying to avoid a trip to the dealer.
