Good day. My '14 4cyl manual..... I often have trouble disengaging the 4 low system.
Is there something I am missing? Some sort of trick?
Sometimes it takes 30 or more tries of getting it out of "low" (occasionally a bit of trouble getting it into low.) I've tried everything--- move selector to 4H when in neutral, moving a little forward, backward, shutting engine off, etc. clutch in, out; it gets downright embarrassing (so I experiment now where nobody sees !!).....
I still have full warranty etc for another year, but I'm not ready to go crying to dealer if it's something I can remedy myself.

You should have it checked under warranty.
Obviously something is not syncing up.

I own a v6 4wd with the 6 speed and it took me forever to figure out the trick to get it in and out of 4lo. If its the same issue as me, I wasn't pressing the clutch fully to the floor for the safety switch to disengage. Give that a shot and if that doesn't work sometimes it just takes working with the 4wd for it to break in fully and shift correctly. Hope this helps. Good luck with it!

Same. In my 2010 4cylinder I have to push the clutch all the way to the floor. I usually shift into 4H while on the move. I think it's easier for the truck to engage 4x4. Once I approach an area where I need 4L, I stop, push the clutch all the way to the floor while the truck is still in gear, let it engage, and I drive off. To get out of 4L, I stop the truck, push the clutch all the way in, and turn the switch to 4H. Once it is in 4H I start moving again and disengage on the run. If 4L doesn't disengage, I move the truck up and repeat the cycle.

Yo thanks fellas. Will give it all a try. Fortunately, if need be, there's the warranty I can fall back on.
